Introduction: DeborahBrooksDesign.com I am flexible in whatever style or design you like, and can create the room, home or office of your dreams, offering exquisite designs, creativity and magical innovation, as well as 15+ years of experience at a wonderful price. Having designed in Washington, D.C., Hollywood and the West Side of LA, I bring a knowledge of various styles from retaining Old World Charm to creating an Ultra Contemporary Space and anything in between. As a Fine Artist who has also owned 4 galleries, I can immediately visualize your space as I would recreate it and relate that vision to you. We work hand in hand together as a team. If you need us to come in and completely design or remodel without your supervision we can also do that and handle the complete project for you. My goal is to create the environment that best serves your needs beyond what you expect. My contractor, and I have an excellent relationship in creating a new vision for you, whether it's removing a wall or a complete remodel, people love our ideas and our work. I will move Heaven and Earth to make sure they are happy with the final outcome, from a one-time consultation to a complete remodel or anything in between. Interior design is often makes one feel like a marriage consultant, when husbands and wifes disagree, quite often it is taken out on the designer and contractors. I brought in my contractor and we literally saved he and his wife from the mess the old contractor left behind, within a month he had his permit and as we finished up the job, he decided he didn't want to pay or couldn't and rudely left my wonderful contractor who had performed miracles for him at a low cost, hanging and still owes over $2000.00 to him. It's sad when people refuse to pay for services that were beyond their expectations because they become greedy. Sadly this happens sometimes and we take the good with the bad.

We were new to this area and wanted a designer which would work well with the architect and contractors we had already hired. Deborah was gracious and delightful to work with. She worked beautifully with everyone and created an absolute haven for us. Living in Southern California along the Gold Coast is a beautiful luxury. The finishes, furnishing and accents Deborah suggested are so wonderfully tied together. We are amazed everyday and feel we are in our lovely European resort (where we were traveling). What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I normally base my fees on an hourly basis once I have viewed the project and determine a Retainer Fee to draw down from. This can be replenished at any time. If one prefers a one-time consultation I also offer that for a fee. I am open to working with a client as best serves each of us.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Normally I set up an in-home or office consultation on site where we discuss a client's needs and desires. This can also be done over the phone and Skype for clients our of the area.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Having been a Lobbyist in Washington, D.C. I wanted to go back to my creativity and design beautiful interiors incorporated with my fine art. As a Master Artist who has shown in New York, Palm Desert, Laguna and Harmony, I not only lend my design expertise, but my creativity as an artist, fusing art & design.
