Hi! I am Lisa. 😊 I am a multi-style musician and music creator. I play keyboards in the style of classical, jazz, baroque, and pop. I also do songwriting, music production, and film/TV/commercial/videogame scoring. I am fluent with a variety of musical toys - from acoustic instruments, to electronics, analog gears, and all kinds of plugins/software instruments. I've been teaching all ages of students for over 10 years (youngest at 4, eldest at 76). I’d like to provide in-depth personal attention and emotional responsibility to my students and inspire them through my teaching. I thrive at being creative in ways that can help my students improve fast and efficiently, and find their individual unique voice in music. Even though there are a giant number of resources online today already, such as Youtube, books, tutorials, etc., it would take you tremendous amount of time to find out what you really need at different stages of your study. Not to mention this huge amount of sourcing work may also lead you into irreversible mistakes or bad habits, which may not be visible short term, but very damaging to your musical study long term. With my multifaceted background in music and 25+ years experience in this field, I am able to provide true, honest, and authentic advice and guidance to students to develop the best path of their music study. Besides working full time regularly in the office at Tencent, I have a handful of free hours. So I split my free time in two categories: primarily music making and music teaching. It’s one of top things that gives me purpose and sense of acomplishement to help others reach their best self in music. In order to save time and energy for the most important part - music, also making sure you obtain the most value, I would like lessons to take place remotely online. I have a lot of experience in digital tools to make things smooth. Regardless you’d want to improve your piano playing or music mixing, we can make it happen. Online learning has became widely accepted since post-pandemic and its related platforms and systems has become very solid and ligit, so rest assure. But one thing super important is that YOU must hold tight that driving passion towards music - especially if you are not young children - YOU need to be committed to the time and money you spent at every lesson and really work the best you could. I recommend when you acknowledge that fire inside you, don’t wait or be afraid of challenges, let’s start at achieving small goals and get them done one by one. Eventually you will see yourself walked a long way from where you started. Please remember at all time, YOU CAN DO THIS. HOWEVER, :) if you come to me in responsible for your children, let me tell you-I am VERY GOOD at motivating young kids to study music, and bring out that PASSION and LOVE. But of course, passion comes with different levels of seriousness and intensity, I assure you that I would never force any of my student to practice or do homework, just as how much I wouldn’t be forced myself. Instead, I will make students motivated to practice and become disciplinary. I will be responsible for controlling the magical balance between pushing a student to learn things and keeping them motivated. So, again, we will discuss case by case, feel secure and guaranteed, then, leave the pro things to the pros. In just a couple lessons, the student WILL know how much they have learnt and how much they have improved, which I am very positive. With their hard work, my professional experience, this will become an unforgettable journey for both of us. I’d hope to develop deep connections and perhaps lifelong friendship with my students, in which regards, the core of this experience will construct upon sincerity and trust. 🌺👍
