I am a licensed marriage and family therapist #80907 specializing in providing therapy and counseling services to children, teens, adults, couples, and families. I provide mental health and personal growth services at my private practice offices in Long Beach and Torrance, CA. I have over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field with a wide variety of issues, populations, and cultures. Taking that first step toward getting help or seeking a greater knowledge of self can be the hardest part and I understand that. I have faced many obstacles in my journey through life, and am grateful to now be in a position to help others. I focus on providing a safe therapy environment in order to help you speak freely, share your story, ask difficult questions, and face challenging issues in a confidential exchange. As a holistic psychotherapist, I pay attention to everything that makes you unique as a whole person, and my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating and affirming everyday. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand how they effect you in the present in order to resolve challenges in your life and create a new way of being. Hey there. My name is Lindsay, and I'm a therapist based out of Los Angeles County. Integrating both Western and Eastern philosophies, I specialize in taking a holistic standpoint to promote healing. My services include individual, couples, family, and child therapy. I am an integrative therapist, which means I combine different types of therapies to provide the best care possible. While I have training in several practices, my primary therapies are focused on fueling an authentic connection to yourself. Through this, you will learn to tap into your intuition, increase your ability to love yourself and others, and decrease the suffering in your life which comes from engaging in thoughts and behaviors which prevent you from living up to your full potential.
My practice focuses on helping individuals, couples, and families who are suffering from emotional or physical pain or the aftereffects of trauma. We help them resolve the traumatic experience as well as its consequences (e.g., physical pain, stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, isolation, dependence, disability, etc.). Although most of our patients have not responded to prior therapies, we've had outstanding success in helping them to move from severe loss to finding a new and positive beginning. We love to work with people who are ready to change and eager to learn how to do it. I am also a licensed, board-certified acupuncturist who has been practicing for nearly 40 years. As a result, I utilize a variety of non-drug treatment approaches, including Interactive Guided Imagery(SM), EMDR, mind/body medicine, hypnosis, biofeedback. nutritional supplements, homeopathy, herbs, acupuncture, and Chinese medicine. I was the executive director of the UCLA Pain Control Unit and professor in the UCLA Medical, Dental Schools and Psychology Department. I'm well-versed in both conventional and alternative medicine, served as a White House Commissioner, and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Academy of Pain Management. I offer the following: * Biofeedback * Interactive Guided Imagery * Individual Therapy * Family Psychotherapy * Chinese Medicine * Group Psychotherapy * Cosmetic Acupuncture * Medical Hypnosis * Couples Counseling * Nutritional Supplements * Diagnostic Testing * Pain Control Therapy * Dietary Testing * Stress Management * Electroacupuncture * Trauma and PTSD

Most of them have benefited from physical (like back pain and asthma), mental (depression and lack of confidence), emotional (anger and patience), spiritual (happiness and faith) and better relationship. Making others happy, makes me happy! I was glad to read the following e-mail from Rick and his wife. To: Sent: Friday July 12, 2013 10:57 a.m. Subject: Yoga Makes Wonder to Ourselves Hi Deepak, Sorry, our schedule is just beyond our control and it's only now I can sit and write this e-mail to you. Anyway, I just want to bring to your attention how me and my wife appreciate and enjoy yoga. The relief I get is just awesome for my asthma and back pain and it tremendously increased my patience dealing with daily activies in life. My mood increased too. Keep it up and more power to you. Hi, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (MFC 84481) and registered art therapist (ATCB# 14-027). As a marriage and family therapist and art therapist, I can provide traditional talk therapy, art therapy, or a combination of both based upon what best fits your needs. My focus includes working with children and adults challenged by anxiety, depression, trauma, divorce and separation and other life transitions. Common symptoms and behaviors of these emotional challenges can present as inability to focus, panic attacks, poor impulse control, inability to effectively and appropriately express thoughts and feelings, feelings of sadness, depression and anger, low self-esteem, anger outbursts, eating disorders, self-harm, and substance abuse. I also work with parents and families to improve parenting and communication skills and address family concerns. I believe the process of therapy is about self-discovery as well as healing and should bring resolution, not just in the area of concern, but through increased confidence, feelings of self-worth, empowerment, and efficacy to create a strong foundation for ongoing happiness and success.
