Tom did a fantastic job installing and painting our new front door. He was the only contractor who came to assess the job before giving us a quote. He efficiently problem-solved an issue with the fit of the door that could have caused it to look unprofessional and messy. His finish work was impeccable, as he was careful and did not rush! He is clearly knowledgeable about a variety of home improvement projects and is easy to work with. We will be having Tom back to work on other projects around our house.
I had a previous bad experience with a plumber, and decided to find a more scrupulous person to fix the half-done job. I decided to try out thumbtack, and posted a brief description of the work. Joel was the first of 5 plumbers to reply within the hour. Joel showed up the morning of the job with another employee and reviewed my plumbing issue in detail before going into the crawl space with his associate to double check the situation. He came back out, described the problem, offered short and long term solutions, and we agreed on which route to take. He assigned the work to his employee, and the work was completed in a couple hours. Although he was not the cheapest of those plumbers who replied, I did feel that Joel provided a reasonable price for the work, had great communication, and his employee also had all the necessary parts for the job in his van (eliminating the need to run down to Home Depot or Lowes for parts). Joel's employee was hard-working and he also provided me with before and after photos of the work completed. I am inclined to seek him out again for future home improvement projects (bathroom remodel, roofing).
Excellent service! TJ came to fix my faulty shower door which cannot be opened properly. The bottom bolt of the door has corroded and he simply switched it with the top one (which is still in good condition). My door is working fine now. He fixed it for FREE. No labor charge. No transport charge. He didn't try to rip me off like some technicians who quoted $100-$200 for this fix. I'll highly recommend TJ who is honest and an expert in his field. And will definitely look for him when I need a contractor.
When I realized that Jonathan Tamayo was able to do much more than install 4 sliding door screens, my list grew exponentially and I was not disappointed. I asked for a brick-lined concrete walkway and a new back gate which Jonathan Tamayo built from scratch and wanted it to be perfect. I said,"It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be better than it was and it's already looking 10 times better than it was!" I've only observed people working that hard when I watched the NICU nurses who took care of our preemie twins when they were born, only those nurses were not dripping with sweat. Jonathan Tamayo was hard-working, friendly, conscientious and considerate. Yes contractors come to your house and they make a mess but you will LOVE that mess because in the end, your outcome is going to be so wonderful and Jonathan Tamayo did clean up after himself. He did a terrific job! Thanks!
Im real estate property manager. I met Sal in 2010. Since then Ive always been impressed with his work. He has done many repairs and improvements such as installing new vinyl windows, including patio sliders. Ive had him install bathtub/shower enclosures, sinks, toilets, garbage disposers and water heaters. He has replace valves and faucets. He can frame walls, hang and finish drywall beautifully. Recently he installed a stove exhaust hood vent, including cutting the existing cabinets and venting it out the roof. He has hung interior and exterior doors. He can trouble shoot electrical problems, replace circuit breakers, install coax, HDMI and CAT5. Ive asked him to run new electrical and cable outlets and install TV braces and hang large TVs. I recently had a dishwasher leak in an upstairs apartment that damaged the ceiling below. Sal removed the old damaged ceiling. Ran fans to make sure everything was dry before he installed new drywall and insulation in the kitchen/dining area. He added a brace for a new ceiling fan, which he also installed. He matched the existing drywall texture and painted it. He also installed a new dishwasher upstairs. In addition to all of the above he can unclog drains big and small. This is only a partial list of his abilities; no job is too big or small. He's excellent at problem solving and Ive yet to find anything he cant do well. Most of all hes dependable, honest and fair, not to mention hes a Marine. I would highly recommend Sal.
I had some difficulty finding a decent contractor to fix issues with my house. Dave solved my problem. He is easy to work with and doesn't charge unreasonable prices as so many do. He does a quality job, and my tenant who lives in the house is also pleased with his work. I look forward to having him work on future projects.
After contacting Frank on a Saturday for my Kitchen remodel, we scheduled an appointment for 8:00 AM Sunday. He shows up at my door 7:55 AM-5 minutes early. FANTASTIC! We went over the job, scheduled a start date, and he estimated two days. It was done on time. What I appreciate most are the small details. I am so used to contractors cutting corners in an effort to finish the job in a hurry and collect their paycheck; and yes I have dealt with my share. We liked the work he did so I gave him more. New kitchen cabinets, counter tops, oh, and relocating major appliances which requires replumbing, rewiring, drywall. Try as I might to plan ahead, I did have to change my mind on some items after he started, which I expected to upset him. He could not have been more gracious. I am well aware the longer I prolong the job the longer I am keeping him from other work. Frank thank you for taking the time to listen to my needs so this job can be done right. It may not be the biggest job you have ever done, but to my wife and me this kitchen is part of our castle and we could not be happier. The small details make the biggest difference and that is what was missing from my past contractors. I interviewed A LOT of contractors before settling on Frank. His attention to detail is what I really appreciate the most.
We hired Wid to do a kitchen remodel and are pleased that the project was completed on time and on budget. We had plans drawn up and approved by the city before bidding out the job to multiple contractors. Most contractors seems to just throw out a number but Wid's proposal was thorough and thoughtful. I can tell that he reviewed the plans thoroughly because his proposal had detailed line items for each step of the remodel and the cost associated with each line item. Because Wid put in the effort at the front end when he did the proposal, there were no unexpected costs and we stayed on budget. Wid gave us a reasonable time frame to complete the job and he was committed to our job for the duration of the time period. He and his crew showed up on time and made progress everyday. If I was around at the end of the day, Wid would give me a walk thru to discuss the progress and what they expect to accomplish the next day. Wid was great about being in communication with me throughout the whole process. After starting the kitchen remodel, we decided we wanted to do a bathroom remodel, relocate our water heater, and repipe our entire house. Not only was the additional cost extremely reasonable, but Wid was still able to complete the kitchen remodel and these additional work orders within the original quoted time frame. A few times, I changed my mind regarding some of my decisions. Wid was surprisingly patient and understanding. He even gave some wonderful suggestions even though it would add more work on his plate. Also, I wasn't happy with some tile work his crew did and when I discussed it with Wid, he listened without being defensive, examined the work, and agreed that his guys will need to redo it. And when they redid the work, it was exactly what I wanted. Overall, Wid exceeded my expectation in the service department and provided very good workmanship. I highly recommend and would love to work with him on future projects.
The Egal Construction team was one of the most down-to-earth, honest contractors I've ever hired for a job in our office building. When we ran into an issue, they jumped on fixing it in an impossibly timely manner. Five stars, 10/10, all of the accolades I can give. Hire these guys!
Let us start by saying that Dave is not only a great general contractor but is more importantly an old-school craftsman. We wanted to totally remodel our kitchen and interviewed a couple of contractors, including Dave. What impressed us most was amount of time, effort, and attention to detail that Dave put into our remodel BEFORE a contract was even presented and agreed upon. Dave met with us on three separate occasions before we formally agreed to engage his services, and each of those meetings lasted more than two hours. Dave's proposal for the remodel was 6 pages long and included every detail as what he would be doing and how he would proceed with the job. Dave covered every detail of his proposal with us and answered every one of our questions. The contract was also detailed and contained a payment schedule that was based upon him completing various stages of the remodel. We had no "buyer's remorse" after we signed that contract since it was clear to us that Dave would do an outstanding job on the remodel. Here are some very important facts for those of you who have had dealings with contractors: (a) Dave told us when the job would start, how long it would take to complete, and the times he would show up and wrap it up for the day. He was true to his word on all of his promises; (b) Dave and his assistant (Rick) do all of the work themselves - with the exception of the fabrication and installation of stone countertops - but don't worry because Dave's stone guy (Ciro) is also top notch. Dave and Rick do the tear out, plumbing, electrical, gas lines, cabinet installation, and the installation of appliances. Nothing is subbed out. And Dave was present for the entire remodel. And not only does Dave do the entire job, he does it with a care, attention to detail, and a precision that is often times lacking in today's contractors. Dave followed the plan he presented to us and the new kitchen unfolded before our eyes. (c) At the end of each day Dave and Rick cleaned up their work area with great care and stored their tools so that nothing was in our way. This was huge for us because we've seen other remodels where the entire house is an unlivable mess and disaster area. We couldn't recommend Dave more. He did the job with great care to quality and detail, he was friendly and approachable, and took the time to explain what he was doing so that there would be no surprises. Dave followed up on the smallest details and took care of everything so that when the kitchen was done it was beautiful and ready to use without any issues.
Eddie was great and extremely quick to respond. I had to go through 8 contractors to find such a good partner! I will be using him again for my future projects
Working with Kelvin was great, he redid our restroom and our entire kitchen, this includes plumbing. We very much liked working with him especially because it felt like the project wasn't dragged out or prolonged in my opinion. He arrived in a timely matter and his crew cleaned up after themselves very well. It was a pleasure working with him and look forward to future projects together!
Gilbert knows what he is doing, his guys are great and get the work done right the first time. I am building my own home and i wish i hire Gilbert for slab and framing but i had already had it done when i met him. The work was 100% done right pass all inspections with green flags. communication was top notch. Cons: We agreed to have him install drop ladder that i supply he came to final inspection and collect his final pay and i left he said he would get it install. Came back and it was not install. I handle it but the principal was not there. I texted him to find out if he was planing to come back and pick up all the left over wood that they left (trash) never got a response. I am a plumbing contractor and i would never leave a job site the way he did unethical. That is why i left a 4 start but in reality a 3 start would of been well deserve. I have another project now and i do not know if i will use him again.
Ramos & Son Contruction Co has done alot of projects for me over the years. I live in a Tri Level home in Covina Ca and Juan Ramos has Remodeled my 2 bathrooms, Kitchen area, Outside waterfall pond, electrical work, reinsulated the upstairs walls in all bedrooms, plumbing work, recessed lighting, repositioned a major support post in my Garage area for more room in the laundry room, installed Crown molding around the interior of my home, and painting. I have a touching story of Juan Ramos, In the summer of 2016 as Juan Ramos was reconstructing my exterior waterfall pond area, my 4 year granddaughter was placed in foster care, so I had applied for my granddaughter to get placed with me, there was alot of things that I had to do to get my home ready for inspection by the dept of Children Services for the home to be approved for my granddaughter to be placed with me. Inspection day came and everything was looking good until the social worker inspected the fireplace, the social worker indicated that she could past the. Inspection because the fireplace did not pass because the fireplace had a steel mesh protector in the front and that it needed a more stable protector, my heart just dropped because my granddaughter was still in foster care with people she did not know. So, immediately I thought of Juan Ramos that was outside rebuilding my pond as the social worker was there doing the inspection. I immediately went outside to ask Juan Ramos if he could temporarily construct a temporary barrier in front of fireplace so the inspection could pass. The social worker said that would be good and ask me to send a picture of the temporary barrier once its installed since she had to leave for her another assignment. Juan Ramos immediately went to Home depot to get the materials needed to construct barrier as I had to report back to work, Juan Ramos completed the temporary barrier within a couple of hours and then he sent me the picture of barrier so I could send to the Social worker, the Social worker was impressed and approved home for my granddaughters placement with me. My granddaughter now has a safe home, and I have adopted her and she now goes to a Christian school in Covina Ca. I give alot of thanks to Juan Ramos for going out of his way and doing this for my granddaughter . Overall Juan Ramos does excellent and remarkable work, his work is very neat, clean, and very detailed at a great price, there was never no delay in all the projects that he has done at my home. Most importantly he's a man of honor, with a heart of gold. I have so much respect for Juan Ramos because of his honesty and caring nature. Best contractor I have ever met in my life.
I got in contact with Rafael's Art of Construction while I was collaborating with Kari Whitman Interiors. We were working on a residential project on Exposition Blvd, LA. They jumped in with the lowest quote for framing, roofing and HVAC system, well below any other bid we received. Even though we had some hiccups with the project leadership and engineering drawings, Rafael and his crew finished the job up to the highest standards.
Mark's office is located on Main Street in Yorba Linda, very close to our residence. We had interviewed a number of contractors to redo our kitchen, living room and down stairs powder room. We thought we'd give him a try. He came out with his decorator, Terry Alvarado, and we were very impressed. They got the concept immediately. Exactly what we were looking for...and then some. Mark took us to a number of his completed projects and we were pleased with what we saw and heard. Mark makes it a point to make "Friends" out of his clients. Within a very short period of time we had accepted Mark's proposal. It was very professional. One thing that really impressed me was that he set up a very conservative payment schedule. This put my mind at ease that he wasn't a "Get the money and run" contractor. As in most remodel projects we were soon adding to the scope of the work. Again, very professional revisions were made to the original contract. When structural work was required for a feature we wanted in our kitchen, Mark was insistent on bringing in an engineer to ensure everything would be first class and to code. In fact, if there's an earth quake in Yorba Linda I want to be in our kitchen at the time! It did lengthen the time to complete the job but we have a very high quality outcome. Mark's contractors- Dennis, Dan, Jai and Mike were a pleasure to work with and very trustworthy. The security of our home (We both work) was always important to them. The frosting on the cake is the quality of custom cabinets Mark's own shop turns out. The tolerances are precise and the white lacquer finish is tremendous. Mark worked until we had just the perfect door fronts on our cabinets. The design work was also terriffic. We continue to work with Terry even now. Granite fabrication (Also done in mark's shop) is great. One of the extras we had Mark do is a custom fireplace mantel. Again, his cabinet team really came through. Also, all moldings were replaced in the first level and the miters are precise. Thanks to Mark, Terry and the entire Turnkey Remodel team for a great job.
We have had Nicolet Construction do several projects at our home over the past three years and have been extremely satisfied with all of the results. Giovann constructed a new 4-car garage shop with loft to match our existing home. This included the site preparation, forms, foundation and slab pours, framing and everything else including the roofing and finish/trim work. Giovann also poured several yards of concrete for our driveway and for a terraced exposed aggregate patio/deck by our pool; he designed and constructed a gazebo in the back yard, and a "tool shed" for the garden: created a custom fireplace mantle; and finished some interior trim work that we had not been able to get done. Giovann is not satisfied with "good enough" and takes pride in every project that he has done for us. I have no hesitation in recommending Nicolet Construction for any project you might have. You will not be disappointed!
My company hired Velarde Construction for an ADA compliance bathroom project. This project was time sensitive, which Albert knew and came through last minute to start and complete the project. Albert showed up every day sometimes several times a day to make sure the quality of work met his standard and to inform me throughout the entire project of next steps (demo, framing, inspections, electrical, etc.). Additionally, Albert made sure every night when him and his workers would leave, that the area was clean and the building was safely locked. I would recommend Velarde Construction to anyone who wants a knowledgeable, hardworking, organized, clean, fair, and above standard workmanship contractor! Thank you Albert for all your hard work~
Mitchell Peters is one of the rare professional craftsmen left ! He did an amazing job designing & Building custom trash bins that look like furniture for our Restaurant !
