This is the man! It was an agonizing decision selecting a party DJ without knowing any because I knew the DJ would be the integral part of a successful Sweet 16 party. My hope was the DJ could play music the teens would be excited for, keep the music clean (since it was at a hotel), and keep the teens on the dance floor. DJ Lon Lee did all that! Plus, he has great lights for ambience. He was on time, made party announcements as needed, provided a microphone for an impromptu speech, and kept the party energy up all night. I chose him because he had a lot of experience, answered my questions promptly and was familiar and accommodating with the music my teen requested. At the party, I was relieved when we heard screams at the starts of songs and saw kids running...running...to the dance floor. You know you have a good party, when there's too much good food not eaten because the guests were on the dance floor all night. Thank you, DJ Lon Lee and thank you to Thumbtack for this connection.

I understand why DJ Lon Lee was rated Thumbtack's #1 L.A DJ. When we were officially outsourcing for a DJ he was willing to come in and meet with our corporate execs to give a brief introduction of himself. He was totally professional and cool. He met our costs and demands and absolutely delivered by constant follow through. He showed up two hours early for set up; did a sound system check and made sure everything was good to go. He had his own personal MC as well. Although we did not need an extra MC; his MC was very pleasant and both were very professional. It felt good to know we had backup in case things didn't pan out how we wanted. He made sure the music was engaging to our employees (around 200 people). The transition from one song to the next was smooth. It was a pleasure to have him DJ at our annual corporate holiday event. We will definitely be utilizing his services in the future.

Great DJ -- Hired him for New Year's Eve and will hire him again in an instant. He took all out play list suggestions and integrated them into a great mix for us. Everyone was dancing. He was early to set up and stayed later than asked for. He brought a great set up and was truely professional and very persoanble. Five stars.

We were very pleased with how DJ Lon handled our wedding reception. When we first met him, it was easy to talk with him. My husband and I gave him a link to a couple playlists we made on grooveshark that we wanted him to play for our reception's dinner hour and also a playlist of songs to play for dancing. He went the extra mile and also grabbed our cocktail hour playlist without us asking him! During the reception, he played all the songs that we wanted him to play, and he somehow magically blended them together seamlessly. He knew how to keep our guests on the dance floor to enjoy themselves by reading the crowd. It also helped that he was easy to contact; any songs he didn't have we were able to email to him so he could have the song to play. DJ Lon is a great dj and if I ever need a DJ again I won't hesitate to book him!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When hiring a DJ make sure you know if he or she has a knowledge of music. Also ask for what kind of experience the person has. Not everyone who "DJs" is a good one. Many cannot mix. No matter how advance technology gets, there is no excuse for being horrible. Make sure you roll with the winner and get the quality you pay for!
