Introduction: Gustavo Gubel, Architect Biography: Gustavo Gubel, One of Silverlake's most notable architects, is renowned for his emphasis on clean lines, large expanses of glass, and artistic use of natural materials. By combining concrete, hardwoods, and carefully chosen natural stones, Gubel creates contemporary, yet warm Architectural Spaces, influenced by Schindler, John Lautner, and the legendary Ray Kappe, whom he studied under at the Southern California Institute of Architecture ( SCI-ARC). Gubel was honored to have his residence featured in the American Institute of Architecture's highly prestigious " Hills of Silver Lake" home tour. Many of his other works have been published in leading media outlets, including commercials and feature films, both locally and abroad. A native of Argentina, Gubel has designed residential and commercial buildings throughout the United States, Argentina, and Uruguay. Some of Gubel's most iconic creations are on display in Los Angeles, including the Hollywood Hills, Pacific Palisades the Santa Monica Mountains.
