Introduction: Ivy-League educated (Brown, BA with honors), top 25 law school, 30+ years experience at college admissions, as well as speaking, writing, business and legal consultation. College Admissions expert. I've been involved in college admissions since I was a student at Brown and worked in the Admissions Office for all four years (gave the admissions tours, admin assistant); I learned the Admissions game from the inside, and have life-long admissions officer friends (two former admissions experts will review the work we do). It's so satisfying to help juniors & seniors craft and present the most impactful application/essays telling their unique "story" that will be attractive to Admissions, and use the tricks of the trade to raise their Admissions visibility. I also headed Brown's Southern California alumni association for 12 years (the country's largest) while working with Admissions. I've guided hundreds of applicants how to get into selective schools (including my daughters), by executing killer applications and strategy to get best exposure and chance to "get in" to schools of applicant's choice in today's competitive college environment. Entertainment/Media/Marketing Counsel. Seasoned expert with legal and business background in this area. Enjoy working with start-up or up-and-coming businesses and talent, and guiding them how to get going in the best, most efficient way, with the proper documentation, strategy, communications, relationships. I work with a variety of people who need writing help and preparation, including emails, resumes, proposals, business communications, and reports. English-as-Second Language tutor/partner. Helped many different clients (from Germany, France, Japan, China, Italy, Brazil) improve their English language and writing skills, and helped them with their everyday needs and goals. Personal tutoring to quickly learn proper grammar, pronunciation, and phrases & colloquialisms of "Americanized"English, writing for their work/school, business and educational guidance. I enjoy very much working closely one-on-one with people from other countries, business people, students, entrepreneurs, and others, to give you warm, personalized service to help gain confidence and improve your skills with: - Speaking and writing the difficult "American" English language for your particular needs. - Creating clear, excellent emails, proposals, reports, websites, etc., for your business, school, or group activities (which I will help you do) - Improving personal skills, strategy, and proposals for your business, school, media, entertainment, or talent opportunities I look forward to speaking with you about what you need and helping you succeed.

I am glad we found Rand and he was instrumental in guiding my daughter through the whole admission process. My daughter has acceptance from three UCs and honestly, we had no clue when we started. Rand is an expert on college consulting and he has an amazing art of essays and helped pick the right college. More than anything he's so passionate about counseling, that there is no way to pay back on hours and hours spent getting the essays and application right. We look up to Rand and he guided my daughter as his own.

With Rand’s help, my daughter got into her first choice school, early decision. Enough said! But I will go on. He is absolutely worth every penny! I have absolutely no regrets in hiring him. In fact, I’m patting myself on the back for making such a great decision! My daughter had her sights set on a university with a 15% acceptance rate. She is a great student and has a lot going for her, but these days, that doesn’t seem like enough. I’ve seen too many excellent students get rejected or deferred to allow her to rest on her laurels. Her school-assigned college advisor had too many students to give her the personal attention she needed. The application process is a bit of a game and Rand was just who we needed to help us dial in our strategy! He pulled information out of my daughter that we had forgotten or hadn’t considered useful and then helped highlight her unique strengths. He helped her craft essays that would peak the interest of admissions officers rather than just be another boring essay in the hundreds they have to read. He helped us dial in on exactly what to do to make her stand out. Rand was generous with his time and always available. His insights and guidance are truly what I believe made the difference. I would recommend Rand’s services to anyone looking to help their child stand out and get in!

What can I say about Randy? Well, he'll grill you about your life and accomplishments until he can recite them and then, using that knowledge, assist in writing the best university applications you have ever seen. He's exceptionally knowledgeable about applications, the statistics behind admissions, and writing what they want to hear. Randy will paint your strengths and achievements in ways that best showcase you as an application candidate. He's tough at times, but it's worth it in the end since you will get the best application for every school. Randy has helped me get into top universities all over North America WITH scholarships. In addition, he has provided his expertise for other projects, not only just for application work. I cannot recommend Randy enough to anyone who wants the best shot at making their dream university. University applications are an odds game, but with Randy, it feels like you're card counting, as you'll get the best odds for each school.

Rand is an excellent counsellor and tutor, but more importantly, he is a caring friend and mentor. He's helped me become more confident with both my writing and myself. He's a busy man but always finds time for you and makes you comfortable and feel cared for. Rand helped me get into a top #10 school and secure a large scholarship to attend. I wouldn't recommend anyone else. His jokes need work though😂.

My daughter needed help with a college Counseling with Private college essays. We are so fortunate to meet Randy who is an Ivy league graduate and a retired lawyer, which I investigated verified the fact (background search). He has done above and beyond with his work and coaching my daughter how to strategize her college application process. Due to overwhelming numbers of applications for the top tier colleges, she did not get in to Brown or Yale, but she has been accepted to all UCs, Pfizer, Clement and Scripps (with $30,000 per year merit scholarship) and Northeastern. At the end, she has decided to go to UC Berkeley. Once again you won't regret working with him.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I like to talk together first, on Zoom or the phone, to have a consultation to find out your needs and concerns, and what type of payment arrangement you are comfortable with. We'll find a good solution for your situation. The bottom line is my fee will be reasonable and less than big consulting operations, but provide much more personalized, close attention to your college-bound child.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First, you and I will either meet or speak on Zoom/the phone about what you feel you need, what your goal is, ask any questions, and get comfortable with each other. It's important to do this so we both understand exactly what you want and the best way to proceed. Then, we'll work closely together, like a team, to achieve your goals. I look forward to speaking with you about what you need and helping you succeed. Please feel free to email or call any time.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have an Ivy League (Brown) and legal (Emory) education , with 30+ years of college admissions/business/marketing/legal affairs experience. At Brown, I worked in the Admission Office all four years, made life-long Admission Officer (AO) friends, learned the process & know what AOs like to see. Your student's essays will be compelling and valued by AOs. I've learned to use words effectively to help clients, businesses, students achieve, as well as to create numerous business ventures and writing business proposals, agreements, marketing and PR materials. I ran the Brown Alumni Assoc. of Southern California (the school's largest) for twelve years, dealing with admissions regularly and thousands of alumni for Brown/other Ivies-Seven Sister schools, including writing/marketing/publishing all its communications and media. I created the "Ivy League Education Bank," a tutorial service for underprivileged children, and have mentored/taught hundreds of people, from 12 -52, with their speaking, writings, resumes, college/job applications, emails/papers, proposals, life plans, and strategy for business or activities.
