FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For mobile Djing (for weddings, parties and corporate events) I have fees set up depending on the amount of speakers and/or lights you'll need me to bring but I don't charge for extra hours so it's a flat rate in terms of the time. I can play for 8 hours with no break and no complaints (I actually love playing long sets). So I wouldn't want someone to limit how long they want music at their event based on cost. It makes no difference to me if I play for 4 hours or 8. But it does make a difference if I have to setup 6 speakers and a subwoofer vs 2 small speakers. :)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I just need to know whether the event is indoors/outdoors, how many people they are expecting and their preferred music genres. That way I can help them figure out how many speakers they'll probably need depending on their situation (sometimes 4 small speakers is more than enough...and cheaper).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a multi-instrumentalist musician so I make sure than when I'm mixing songs they flow into each other harmonically and not just at the right tempo. And then as a Therapist I'm pretty good at reading people's emotions so that helps with reading the crowd.
