Hello I'm Zev Shearn-Nance, thanks for viewing my profile. As an educator, I have a passion for helping students to discover their own aspirations and develop a plan to accomplish them.
My have a degree in music from the University of Southern California, and have taken many private lessons from the worlds greatest drummers.
I have been playing professionally since I was in high school, and stay busy playing and recording drums from many different artists around Los Angeles.
I have had the opportunity to play drums in various classical music environments including in an orchestra supporting Kristen Chenoweth, a performance with the SF Symphony and a recording session with the SF Ballet orchestra.
I teach lessons to students of all ages, from 4 to 79, from beginners to experienced drummers. I find joy in personalizing lessons based on each students needs and seeing their goals become reality. My students are welcome to take two four, or eight lessons a month, with more lessons leading to faster growth. I have found 60-90 minute lessons are best for most students learning, but also offer shorter lessons if beneficial.
I teach all styles of music including funk, rock, blues, pop, jazz, Afro-cuban, country, classical and more.
Lessons subjects are highly customized, and range from skills such as technique, reading, foot control, rudiments, coordination and independence to working with other musicians, writing music, improvising and more.
I have a studio set up for remote lessons (over Skype, Google Hangouts, or FaceTime), and am also available for lessons in person, either at my studio near South Pasadena or at your home.
