Introduction: Hey I’m Jake. My #1 goal is to make you really really good at guitar (or bass) and do it in a way that doesn’t feel like I’m shoving meaningless exercises down your throat. I work with my students in nearly every aspect of musicianship, meaning that some days we’ll be focusing on chords/scales/soloing etc while other days will be focused on ear training or learning a new song. I will work with you to create a roadmap that is unique to you are your goals. Whether you want to play “Wonderwall” for your friends or get into a really good music school, it is entirely up to you. I’m just here to guide you along the way, and get you to where you want to be.

I’ve been seeing Jake for a few months and I cannot recommend him enough! My guitar skills have improved SIGNIFICANTLY over those few months and I am surprised how quickly the guitar is clicking for me. Jake is awesome because you can bring him a song and he will teach you how to play that song, allowing for learning to actually be really fun. Jake would be an amazing teacher to anyone of any age!

I have taken lessons with Jake for about half a year now and I must say, I could not be happier with my progress. He is extremely patient, adaptable, and keeps things interesting and fun. My improvisation skills have improved a lot and I’m finally able to work out most songs by ear. I truly cannot recommend Jake highly enough.

Jake’s the best!! I went in with absolutely no experience and he’s guided me every step of the way. The amount of progress I’ve made is amazing given I’ve only been taking lessons for a couple months now. I look forward to our lessons every week, each one is unique and he does a great job of keeping things fun and interesting.
