Bass Guitar Lessons
We are so happy we found Steve! My 8-year-daughter started taking bass lessons about a year ago with a different teacher in our old neighborhood, but since Steve became her teacher, I've never seen her so excited about practicing and playing. He has a great rapport with kids, and is very skilled at teaching technique and reading music along with the fun of learning the songs she wants to play. My husband and I are professional musicians, so it was important to us to find a highly skilled musician/teacher for our daughter. Don't look any further; Steve is the real deal!Feb 3, 2019Verified
Steve shows up on time and ready for a lesson. My daughter thinks he’s knowledgeable and goes at a good pace for her. I highly recommend him.Aug 15, 2019Verified

I needed help transcribing a few acoustic songs, Steve came by and got me organized in one 1 hr lesson. Effective and Professional. 👍🏼Oct 11, 2019Verified
Steve was very responsive and great. I have been playing guitar on and off and wanted some direction on how to improve as a player. He was clear and patient with me (as a guitar noob) and gave me lot new material to work on.Nov 14, 2019Verified
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I usually speak with my new clients over the phone first to discuss where they are at with the guitar and where they want to go. Based on that conversation, I bring a variety of guitar method books and manuscript paper to the lesson and see what the student can and cannot do and we begin the learning process at a point that is mutual. I also spend a bit of the first lesson talking about Music with my student to know what they enjoy and to simply get to know them better.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have my Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Performance and have been playing the guitar for over 15 years. I've also taught guitar lessons for over 5 years and currently work part-time at two music schools. I also play bass in a band and am composing original music for my own group. I can bring my knowledge and experience from years of performing, teaching, rehearsing, composing, and improvising to the lesson space.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I was hired as a substitute guitar teacher at a music school and realized how rewarding giving a lesson felt.
