Introduction: **ATTENTION HOLIDAY GIFT GIVERS** For students outside of the greater Los Angeles area, we offer 1-on-1 webcam lessons exclusively. Student admission to private lessons is contingent upon a successful phone interview and trial lesson. If you would like to gift a loved one guitar lessons this holiday season we’ll be happy to offer a gift voucher for a trial lesson. When the student redeems that lesson voucher, we will set up an interview and trial lesson with the student to determine if they are a good fit for our program. Please feel free to contact us with your inquiries. We will do our very best, based on your knowledge of the student’s prior experience, to pre-determine whether they will be a candidate for private lessons, though the final decision will be based on the interview and trial lesson. Thanks for reading, and HAPPY HOLIDAYS! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * WALDRON GUITAR ACADEMY is an outgrowth of the private teaching studio of Brian Waldron, Los Angeles’ top-rated guitar instructor. We are a collective of professional guitarists dedicated to providing the finest educational experience imaginable. WHAT SETS US APART? 1. —Our Singular Obsession— Unlike other music schools, at Waldron Guitar Academy we exclusively teach guitar. Rather than recruit other instrumentalists just to fill out our student roster, we’ve devoted 100% of our resources to providing the finest guitar learning experience imaginable.  2. —Our Commitment to Your Progress— Improvement on any instrument requires efficient, goal-oriented practice. While that might make sense in concept, as a guitar student it can be hard to know exactly what ‘effective’ practice looks and feels like. Our job is to take out the guesswork. After each lesson, you’ll receive a detailed email from your instructor with bite-sized goals you can reasonably expect to achieve before your next meeting, along with tips on how to focus your efforts for maximum results 3. —Our Expert Instructors— Our gifted, friendly instructors are hand picked from across the country. In order to be considered, each instructor must exhibit: *Mastery of their instrument *Expertise in a particular genre (classical, fingerstyle, jazz, blues, country, metal). *Extensive teaching experience (10 years minimum) *A passion for working with students of all abilities, including total beginners. 4. —Our ‘It Takes A Village’ Approach— When you enroll at Waldron Guitar Academy you’ll have access to decades of wisdom from some of the nations finest guitar instructors. While you’ll always have a primary instructor you see each week, it’s not uncommon for students to take one-off lessons from other teachers who may specialize in an area their primary teacher does not. Are you a classical guitarist who wants to learn to a face-melting metal solo? Or vice versa? We’ve got you covered ;) Contact us now for your free consultation and we'll match you with a teacher who's right for you. Talk to you soon! -Brian Waldron Head Instructor, Waldron Guitar Academy

Waldron Guitar is WONDERFUL! My 14-year-old daughter, with zero guitar experience, was so shy and noncommittal when first starting her lessons. Her instructor, Ron, was able to pull the best out of her with his stellar coaching, patience, and expertise. Ron emails a summary of each session afterward and has all-around superb communication. Brian has been so easy to work with as well. He is understanding and seems to put his all into making his business a success while evermore caring for his clients. I highly recommend Waldron Guitar to the fullest, for this has been beyond an immensely pleasing venture.

Details: 45 - 64 years old • No formal training • No, cannot read music • Electric • What the teacher recommends • Yes, the student has an instrument • 60 minutes • Remotely (phone or internet)

Lessons in jazz guitar with the "Bermanizer" (Ron) at Waldron Guitar are a blast! So much fun, in fact, that it doesnt feel like work at all. He has really helped me expand beyond my classical training and start thinking more like a musician and less like a sight reading automaton. Brian Waldron is personable, supportive and leads his guitar school ike a person that loves what they do, and that makes all the difference when choosing a school or private instructor for guitar. Highly recommended and I will absolutely return for more lessons.

Details: 26 - 44 years old • 0 - 2 yrs of formal training • Yes, can read music staff • What the teacher recommends • What the teacher recommends • Yes, the student has an instrument • 30 minutes • Remotely (phone or internet)

I cannot speak more highly of Ron as a guitar instructor. He’s knowledgeable, patient, and very encouraging. I look forward to my lessons with him and always feel energized and inspired afterwards. Ron clearly enjoys teaching and maximizes the teaching time during each lesson.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Lessons are sold in packages of 4, which expire 6 weeks after the date of the first lesson. Three types of lessons are offered: 35min, 45min, 65min. At the end of every lesson (or later that same day) you will receive a personalized email from your instructor with specific goals and instructions to guide you in your practice. You'll also receive a video recording of the lesson so that you can relive all those groundbreaking tips, "Aha!" moments, and magical exercises from your last meeting.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Once you connect with us on Thumbtack, we'll set up a phone consult so we can discuss your musical experience and goals in more detail. From there we'll figure out which of our qualified instructors would be the best fit for you, and set you up with a trial lesson so you can see for yourself ;) We have instructors in just about any genre you can think of. Classical, Fingerstyle, Blues, Jazz, Metal, Country. At Waldron Guitar Academy, the musical world is at your fingertips!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Our instructors possess music degrees from some of the nation's most selective music schools (or equivalent professional experience). But that's not all... Waldron Guitar Academy requires all its teachers to have a minimum of 10 years teaching experience (on top of their decades of experience as players) to even be considered. This is a far cry from most 'neighborhood' music schools and guitar stores, which will often hire any schlub with a music degree and a smile.
