- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My best advice to anyone looking for rain gutters is....Ask a lot of questions. Comparing bids is not always apples to apples. Ask them if the corners will be hand cut ? (pre-fab box corners will leak much sooner than hand cut.Ask them what type of fasteners they will be using? Hidden hanger or spikes/nails (nails tend to pull away from your home after a year or two and they show the nail heads in the front of the gutters.Very unattractive) Hangers should be spaced no more than 36 inches apart. Ask them if they provide a written warranty/ Detailed estimate. Ask if the installers are paid hourly or piece work? (our experience shows us that hourly pay workers tend to take their time and pay more attention to quality and details.) After asking as many questions as you have for the rain gutter contractor, consider who seemed to listen more to your concerns and who seemed most likely to do a good job. Don't try shopping strictly on price, You may be disappointed in the end.
