Samantha has gone above and beyond helping with my loft design in Long Beach, CA. She consistently amazed me by picking items online and having them flow perfectly with the design and other items in my place. Samantha goes to trade shows often and has an excellent understanding of many different niche and mainstream brands, as well as custom builders. Her presentations of design directions are well thought out and very professional. I would highly recommend Samantha for interiordesign projects and I look forward to hiring her again.

Once Samantha and I figured out what I needed for my apartment, she quickly researched a variety of options from both an aesthetic and price point standpoint. We recently had Ms. Blake oversee a redesign of our living and dining room. It was a great experience and we are very pleased with our new mid-century modern look. We particularly appreciated her responsiveness to our wants and needs. This included incorporating existing items and artwork we loved into the design; sourcing places to custom-build furniture that would be comfortable for my very tall husband; capturing our eclectic taste.
She also coordinated craft workers well (painters, installers, etc), and throughout the project she helped guide us on choices that worked within our design budget, without compromising quality and style. Would definitely rehire her for future design work.

I worked with Sam first as an assistant while she was shooting photos in a house that she had re-designed and decorated. After seeing her work, I had her work with me to re-design my studio workspace. While Sam has a modern and feminine style that she brings to her projects, I also felt like she understood my own personal aesthetic. I had some ideas for redesigning my workspace that I initially brought to the table. Sam made better suggestions and came up with more ideas without being critical. She gave me lots of different options for different aspects of my studio that I could change, and it let me feel like I had good options to choose from that all could work. She has great attention to detail, and it was often the little suggestions she made that really helped the space to look more elevated. Overall, I wanted to update the look of my studio so my clients could feel comfortable and special in the space while we met. I get so many compliments on my space now! I couldn't have done it without Sam's help!

We’ve worked with Samantha on a couple of projects. Several years ago, she found the perfect fabric to create a cushion for our dining banquette and more recently, did the design for our large loft living room. Her sense of color and patterns is exquisite and she knew the exact dimensions that the furniture should be to look great in the space. She has also found local furniture makers to create our custom pieces. Everyone who has stepped foot in our apartment is amazed at how great it looks!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My customers will always get the best price possible. I pass along my trade discounts with a small commission to cover my time and responsibility for the order.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After discussing and seeing the new space. The first thing I create is a strong concept that is the backbone throughout the whole design process. Color schemes and floor plans are next followed by sourcing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked in the interior design field since high school, got a CIDA accredited degree in interior design, and worked for top designers throughout my life before starting my own firm.
