I’m a native Japanese teacher from Fukuoka, Japan, helping kids, teens, and adults learn Japanese with clear, personalized lessons built around their goals. I moved to the U.S. when I was 18 and learned English from scratch myself, so I understand both the excitement and frustration of learning a new language. That experience shaped the way I teach: patiently, step by step, and without assuming that something is “obvious” just because it comes naturally to a native speaker. My lessons are structured but personalized to each student’s age, goals, interests, and learning style. We can work on conversation, hiragana, katakana, kanji, grammar, travel Japanese, Japanese culture, or JLPT preparation. Because I’ve spent much of my life in both Japan and the U.S., I also teach the cultural context behind the language — not just what to say, but when, why, and how Japanese people naturally use it.
