FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge between $30-45* per session. Each session is one hour. The first one or two sessions are basic diagnostics. I ask why my services are needed, I determine a goal for my clients, and finally plan steps that will help them meet those goals. A higher price is determined by how many materials I will need to prepare for each session. Math subjects such Pre-Algebra and Algebra would be considered $45. English subjects such as reading and writing would be considered $30. And Subjects such as History or Science would fall in between. I am willing to work with your budget needs, but whatever price we agree on will not change. In other words if we agree on $30 per session, I will NOT ask you for an increase of payment the following week or following month. However many sessions per week or month are up to you. I ask that we schedule tutoring sessions 1 week in advance and I will call a day before to confirm our session. You may cancel sessions up to 1 hour ahead of time and I will not charge for any canceled sessions. *as mentioned my last tutoring sessions were $20.00 however I did not have to travel far to his home and he simply needed extra materials and some homework help. Please keep that in mind when reviewing my prices.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am applying for a teaching credential for the State of California and will complete that process by September of 2014.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am the oldest of 8 children. I grew up helping to take care of my brothers and sisters and helping them with their homework and projects. After countless open houses, back to school nights, rehearsals, and science fairs I realized how much teachers impact their students. I wanted to become a positive influence to children and help them learn about their world.
