FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I can offer a 20% discount to those who let me know they have a financial barrier to care.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I chose to pursue this degree because it provided specialized training in working with couples, children, and families. My clinical approach is rooted in postmodern theory, with a strong emphasis on family systems and the ways relationships shape our experiences. During my training, I had the opportunity to study under faculty who were trained by renowned therapists Insoo Kim Berg and Steve de Shazer, among others. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in advertising with fortune 500 brands. This experience gives me a firsthand understanding of high-demand, high-pressure work environments. I’m married to a physician specializing in psychiatry, which gives me insight into the unique demands of medical careers and how they impact both individuals and their families. It also deepens my understanding of the medical and biological aspects of mental health, complementing my work as a therapist.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been a “people-person” - curious about how we work both independently and within our families and communities. My best friend’s mother is a psychotherapist. Growing up I was able to pick her brain and learn about her work. From a young age I was interested in becoming a therapist one day.
