I was looking for something really exciting for my son’s birthday. Many suggestions from family and friends included, Disneyland or Chuck-E-Cheese, but I wanted something a bit more intimate and specific to my young toddlers current lineup of favorites.
The character du jour for my son is currently, Sesame Street’s Elmo. So, in an attempt to give my child a wonderful surprise, I embarked on the search for a performing Elmo.
I came across a few performers who had sketchy reviews, to say the absolute least. Reviews of no-shows, sub-par performances and rude entertainers almost scared me off. However, I decided to continue my search and found Pavlov.
I talked with him, he shared his experience with me and sent me photos of his work. This definitely put my mind at ease.
*Some of the other companies that offer Live Party Entertainment are agencies. They hire contract performers, acting as a staffing agency of sorts. Let’s Entertain is privately owned and run by Pavlov. He’s the owner and entertainer, which I believe, adds to the integrity of the business.
The performance itself was wonderful! I reserved an hour of entertainment. The first half was Pavlov himself, interacting with the children and doing magic tricks. Before the second half, the performer pretended to leave, while sneaking off to change into character. During this second half, “Elmo” came out. My child was in complete AWE!!! “Elmo” danced a lot with the birthday boy and other the party goers. “Elmo” poses for photos and made the time wonderful. I will never forget the way the birthday boy said, “Elmo!!!”
Pavlov did an amazing job and made my son’s birthday party one that our family will remember forever.
You should know: crowd participation is a must. Why wouldn’t anyone want to participate, I don’t know, but this is worth mentioning. Also, the magic show and balloon tricks are good for a mixed age of children. If it’s a toddler’s only party, the adults might want to chime in for the little ones.
And as with any service, gratuity should be considered.
