I was in LA for a conference formal dinner. I wanted a natural look with lashes. I use a professional MUA about 6-7 times each year for the various conference dinners and galas I attend throughout the year for work - from New York to California. I’ve had decent experiences and a few show stoppers, but Joy Thomas’ work blew my mind. As a woman of color with hyperpigmentation, I’m still amazed how she was able to make my skin seem even. Also, the makeup didn’t feel heavy and didn’t crease like in previous experiences. Joy is an expert; a truly gifted, supremely skilled artist. I received so many compliments and felt so confident in my look. If Joy Thomas is available, book her. You will not be disappointed.

If I could leave Joy 10 stars I would. She is amazing to work with. I learned of her through my hair person for my wedding and was blown away after my trial and meeting Joy. She listened to exactly what I wanted, taking feedback and making small adjustments. She’s punctual, reliable, and very genuine. HIRE HER. 😊🩷 So glad I have someone to call on for future makeup needs. She also did all of my bridesmaids and they loved her so much one is looking to hire her for their wedding as well. I hired Joy to style my hair for my maternity shoot and she did such an amazing job! She was very responsive and even accommodated to come earlier last minute to work around my schedule.
