Introduction: Hello my name is Adam Briere, I am a San Francisco/New York based drummer, bandleader and educator. I Started playing the drums at the early age of five. Influenced by the works of John Bonham, Elvin Jones, Mitch Mitchell, Stewart Copeland, and Philly Joe Jones. I attended The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in NY, and received a BFA in Jazz Performance. During my time at The New School, I had the pleasure to study and work with, influential musicians such as Adam Nussbaum, Allison Miller, Johannes Weidenmeuller, Henry Cole, Billy Harper, Matt Wilson, Ingrid and Christine Jenson and Oz Noy. I currently freelance with a variety of musicians in SF and Ny, and co-lead a trio with New School alums, that performs’ regularly in New York, and throughout the North and West Coasts. I have performed at Nublu, Yoshi’s, the Blue Whale, SF’s Fleet Week, Summer Stage in Central Park, Modern Sky Music Festival, Charlie Parker Jazz Festival and The Royal Room, along with many others.
