Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I offer personalized one-on-one and small group tutoring in English (ESL), French, Spanish, German and Russian, as well as basic reading and writing. I am a native speaker of American English, having been born and raised in California. Additionally, I lived for several years in Belgium and France, including 3 years in public school there. I have spoken Spanish conversationally for two decades, and have studied German through college as well. I speak, read and write basic Russian. I have taught ESL for 25 years, and French for 5. My passion is Grammar and Pronunciation. I have a BA in French, a minor in Linguistics, and I completed all the coursework for a Masters Degree in Teaching. I have a Lifetime Community College Teaching Credential. I am available to assist you in any aspect of Language learning, including Grammar, Pronunciation / Accent Reduction, Conversation, Reading and Writing. My client base includes junior and high school students (French, Spanish), adults (ESL, French, Spanish), and young children 5-8 years old (Reading / Writing). Additionally, clients have come to me for Singing classes (operatic pronunciation), and Business fundamentals classes (ESL for Business). I am passionate about helping people gain and improve their competency in any language. I am patient and encouraging with my students. We start with wherever you are in your language learning, and proceed from there, according to your needs and preferences. Sometimes it may take a bit of time to understand how all the grammar or vocabulary fits together -- but then there is that "A-ha!" moment, and the recognition of a level of fluency that can be attained, by anyone. This moment is precious to me -- and to the student. I am especially fond of the lessons in American pronunciation when we work on a difficult word like "thank" or "this" or "roaring" -- and the student is able to put all those uniquely American sounds together for best comprehension by the intended audience. I look forward to working with more students!

Chris is an excellent teacher. I had a few other teachers before her, and I can say Chris is the best. I think she is also a good phycologist, because she finds right approach to every student. Her lessons are very effective. My 7 years old daughter knew no English at all. She was ready to go to local school just after 3-4 lessons with Chris, her vocabulary increased from zero to a few hundreds of words. I feel dramatic improvement in my English pronunciation after taking lessons with Chris. My accent was so strong that even waiters in McDonalds did not understand me. Now I speak freely, even over the phone, and I do it intuitively without thinking about how do I do it.

Chris is a very dedicated teacher. I can tell she loves and enjoys teaching since the first day I met her. It is amazing that she's able to explain me some things using examples in Spanish (my natal language) in order for me to understand clearly the grammatical base of it. I really recommend Chris as an ESL teacher.

I took few classes from Chris last year and I must say that it has been phenomenal. Chris has got an amazing depth on different accents, language and grammar. I improved my accent a lot by learning some techniques. I will recommend Chris to anyone who is looking for accent reduction or adopt a different accent or simply talk in the public.

Very Committed and helpful teacher. Mrs.Brown is very knowledgeable. We had different subjects to talk about in each meeting. She helped me not just the grammar, accent reduction and also the American culture etc... I enjoyed her English tutoring.

I felt she has very strong her opinion on how to teach, and hard to communicate.
ESL and Accent Reduction; English tutor's reply
Understandably, not every tutor-student pairing is a good match. With this student, we met for one hour in a coffee shop to interview one another, and in that time I determined that my approach to ESL learning was not compatible with her request for tutoring. We did not have an actual tutoring session. Rather, I recommended that she repost her request for tutoring with specifics about the approach she wanted. I saw that repost soon after, and I hope she found a tutor to her liking.
