I sent the following message direct to Modern Muse and wanted to leave it at that: “Candice, So sorry. This first cleaning visit on 9/12/24 was not even close to your description of service you provide, much less our expectations. We will no longer require your services. Thank you. Ruben Baesler” Since then you have requested a review multiple times so here we go. The cleaning lady arrived at our door after being dropped off by someone, with a five gallon plastic bucket, a used mop and a vacuum cleaner that was full of dirt from previous use, badly in need of service. She was obviously not briefed on the specific cleaning task we asked for and thought it was whole house cleaning. We invited her to ask us if she needed anything and offered water. Bless her she worked hard to the best of her ability. Shortly after starting the kitchen she asked if we had a mop. I provided a Swiffer wet jet cleaning device with pads and she continued cleaning. After some time she declared the job done. After some discussion about cash payment she accepted cash and Modern Muse would immediately email a receipt. Never happened. So I made a receipt which she signed. The kitchen stainless appliances were left with horrible dried streaks like unrinsed cleaning cloth or whatever she used which appeared typical throughout. I worked a full afternoon re-cleaning and polishing the stove, dishwasher and refrigerator. The tile floors were mopped but not pre-dusted or vacuumed leaving moist “dust balls”. The tubs, shower and sink tops were not properly cleaned as evidenced by water spatter I left earlier that morning. The two bathrooms were reasonably clean to begin with and the toilets may have been wiped, but the bowl ring was still present. Finally, this poor lady waited for her ride at our front door for a long time. “ This rate includes thorough cleaning of the specified areas, ensuring they are sanitized, fresh, and spotless. Our team will handle all aspects of cleaning these spaces, including floors, countertops, fixtures, and appliances in the kitchen, as well as the toilets, showers, and sinks in the bathrooms.” This was not met.

I do not recommend this cleaning company. At booking, I notified the owner that I would like two different homes cleaned. The owner, Candice agreed. The owner started off responsive, but that slowly changed. The person she sent to the home was unprofessional. I had a list of things that needed to be completed. The list was provided at the time of booking. The person sent to the home asked if she could return another day because she had business to take care of with her family. Then she said, “Never mind, I will stay and clean the home.” Moments later she asked, “ How long do you believe it will take me to clean the home?” While I was working from home, she ended up leaving my home without finishing the job. She notified the owner of the company that she completed the job and this was untrue. She failed to clean the kitchen, pantry, wipe the walls, dust, and wipe the windows down. The owner was apologetic. Pictures are provided below. For the second appointment, the owner Candice called to cancel the scheduled appointment (9/28/2024) for the second home. She asked to send another person to the home to ensure that the job is completed this time around. We scheduled for Monday September 30, 2024 at 10am. At 9am, I confirmed with her that someone would arrive at 10am. No one came. I sent the owner a message notifying her that mo one arrived to the home yet. The owner did not respond. I called the owner s hour plus later. No response. Finally, I went with another cleaning company. The owner still hasn’t apologized or said anything to me. This is not how you run a business.

Wow, she cancelled again for Thursday 9/19? I can understand that things come up for everyone but two days in a row is not acceptable. Against my better judgment I booked your company after reading a review that you canceled on them as well. As a small business owner I would have done anything possible to make the 2nd attempt work for a new client, even asking an established client if we could trade days. Maybe you did, it’s hard to tell as your text just starts with an apology before even stating you’ve cancelled yet again. I had to look twice at the calendar thinking that you were referring to canceling today not again tomorrow. I wish you the best of luck with your endeavors but I will not be re-booking. Cancelling 2 days in a row doesn’t give me confidence that you could accommodate my schedule ‘as a priority’. It’s very disappointing. JM
