We met with Anna in the Fall of 2021, and we were immediately impressed with her professionalism (impressive portfolio) and in her ability to provide great ideas/suggestions for our project, which included a complete remodel of an existing house and a 500sf addition. We have always found Anna to be prompt, responsive, professional, helpful, and attention to detail. She provided great ideas, took our feedback, and incorporated that into our design project. She gave us invaluable feedback and kept us informed of the progress throughout the process. We started with the construction in July of 2023 and from time to time we needed Anna's input, and she has been very supportive and helpful, as always. We have already referred her to the other contractors who were also looking for architects and will continue to recommend her to our friends, colleagues, neighbors, and everyone else who are looking for architectural services.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Anna Purvis Architecture. Anna is very professional and great to work. Prior to me obtaining Anna service, working with the city was a total nightmare experience. With Anna, she explained what was needed from the city. Her architectural design that was submitted to the city was accurate and dead on. We received the permit from the city within a month. This process normally takes months to complete. Along with her knowledge and expertise, Anna was always there when I had any questions regarding my project. Great communication. She exceeded my expectations and went above and beyond with the service she provides getting my project approved and permitted it. I highly recommend Anna and will work with Anna again in the future. Anna created the architectural design and scope of work for a kitchen remodeling project. Since we wanted to remove a wall and a chimney, we wanted to make sure that the design was structurally correct. She evaluated the structural elements and worked with us to develop the new design which would better utilize the space. She worked with a structural engineer to put together all the documents required for permitting and submitted the paperwork for us. We then provided Anna's design to get bids from which we chose a contractor for execution. I was impressed by how responsive Anna is - whenever we had questions she always answered right away. She is also very straightforward about the timeline. For the parts over which she had control, she always delivered on or ahead of schedule. For the parts out of her control (e.g., city permitting process) she gave us updates and realistic estimates of the time it would take based on her extensive experience with the permitting process and with our city in particular. Anna also gave us valuable advice regarding contractor licensing and insurance so we could choose a reputable company. We felt secure knowing that the design for the remodel was developed by a professional who knows the codes and does not cut corners, and I would certainly recommend her to others.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The fees are fairly estimated based on hours anticipated to complete the project.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I meet on site to evaluate the project potential, permitting options and the client's vision. I take all necessary dimensions to create/verify the building floor plans that will be used for the project. Every stage of the design is run by the client for his/hers approval before going any further. A complete set of drawings is then submitted to the city for a building permit. If a client wishes to be helped with contractor selection or construction administration, I am happy to do that too.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's Degree in Architecture and have over 20 years of experience.
