We weren't sure what to expect from a self-defense class, but Max offered me a good breakdown over email prior to the coming in to teach, and once here, he was good about demonstrating techniques and allowing the class to do as much or as little as they were comfortable with. I found Max's lessons to be practical for the common person, and his teaching style is to the point, but relaxed. He'll answer questions as you go along and help you to chain together the different things he teaches you. We've asked him back for every other week, so he's definitely doing the right things! We have a lot of fun, but also learn a lot from Max.
Martin is fantastic. His self defense lessons made an immediate difference. He makes things fun and customizes to exactly what you are looking for. I highly recommend working with him.
Sensei Mehran is a patient teacher and capable instructor. He keeps us fresh, allows for interaction, and has a welcoming disposition. This is a great place to learn karate.
I've been attending Allsport since I was five years old; that's almost thirteen years now. And there still isn't a class where I don't learn something new. Not to mention all the life lessons and self discipline Allsport has caused me to accumulate. Jay and Gina really do have an amazing program. And now we share an amazing gym with battle control, which makes everything even better. So over all I would definitely recommend you come train with us.
Vince is an incredible coach! I have been taking classes and private lessons from Vince for almost five years now, and it has changed my life! I've lost weight, learned many new skills, improved my balance, and most importantly I've gained confidence in myself! This is thanks to Vince's amazing ability as a teacher and coach. He pushes you without taking you too far, he gives you that vote of confidence you need to push through when it gets tough, and his attention to detail will ensure that you become the best athlete you can be. He has brought me from a person who has never thrown a kick to a confident martial artist, thanks largely in part to his level of personal attention - he makes time for all of his students to ensure that everyone grows and improves as much as they can. During private lessons, you get an amazing amount of personal attention and direct support - Vince does not teach a one size fits all program. My private lessons with Vince are an amazing chance to have him push me to work hard, improve my skills significantly, and gain confidence! Vince is patient, observant, and so supportive when he works with his students! I wouldn't be the athlete and martial artist I am today had it not been for Vince's teaching. I recommend him for anyone who is looking for a teacher and trainer to help them become their best!
I've only had a few lessons but recomend this place highly-I'm totally new to this and Shermie has been really helpful and patient. I intend to continue the lessons Catherine B
Terri was incredibly helpful. She gave me two private lessons preparing me for self defense (body lang, verbal and physical skills) for me to use when traveling the world alone. I highly recommend using her as a resource. She tailored my lessons to my needs, was personable, and I learned a ton and gained confidence! Thanks Terri!
I've had one lesson with Cindy so far and loved it! She walked me through proper techniques and we did a variety of self-defense training so I was constantly challenged and learning. I can say that after one lesson I already feel much more prepared, but I'm looking forward to learning more and getting stronger in the process! I'd recommend Cindy to anyone who is looking for the perfect balance of self-defense lessons and working out!
A great place to work out! I have known and trained with Jeremy for over 15 years, and I am excited that he has finally decided to open up a school. I have studied martial arts for over 20 years at various schools and styles ranging from Tae Kwon Do (with Jeremy) Capoeria, Muay Thai, Judo, and Wing Chun. Of all my instructors, and I have had some great ones, I can safely attest that Jeremy was the one that allowed me to grow the most. if you are a beginner, or advanced in martial arts I guarantee that if you spend six months training under Jeremy at IMA, you will see tremendous improvement with your technique and fitness goals.

We provide private martial arts and self-defense lessons and training. I am not a martial arts instructor who wants to be called master, sifu or some other honorific title; I'm just an easygoing coach with three legitimate, confirmable black belts that will work with you at whatever level you are. I won't force you to train like an Olympian unless you want to, and I don't teach how to dodge bullets or fly through the air. If this sounds like something you might be interested in, read on. I am committed to teaching critical self-protection skills to those who seek it. My form of self-defense teaches the social, emotional, mental as well as physical skills necessary to avoid most confrontations. Should an assailant escalate to the physical realm, my students are ready to respond accordingly with easy-to-master physical skills that are derived from jujitsu, hapkido, aikido, wing chun and NYC street defense that any body type can learn quickly and easily. I offer private lessons to both adults and children, as well as corporate team lessons. For those who may be interested, I am willing to help them achieve their black belt through Jujitsu America. I offer a free needs analysis/first lesson and after that, I charge for eight lessons at a time. I strongly believe that no one should be denied this education and as such, I have committed to teaching these skills to young people in the public schools free of charge; just ask. Additionally, I offer sliding scale to those who simply can't afford to pay my normal fees. I also offer coaching for competitive events. I am a first-level national coach (and a committee member) for Sport Jujitsu; I can help you succeed in any tournament. If you are interested in studying in either San Francisco or New York, or if you have any questions, please reach out to me at the number below or e-mail me. Please check out my website too. It's where you can check out my credentials and see my videos. Thanks for reading, and I hope to work with you soon.
I am the lead guitarist and lead singer for Rocks Valentine and have been giving guitar lessons since 2006. My last student now performs at various coffee shops in San Mateo. I teach the basics, e.g., chords strumming, first position, and note reading. I guarantee that you will be able to play a song on your very first lesson.
Helping people help themselves, both adults and children/teens.
We will help you. We use a lot of things to build things and more. We help with a lot of stuff, and I am the only coach.
The service I provide stands out in a lot of different ways. I'm very fast and efficient about my work, I like to get in an out with providing the best quality outcome. I keep my work area very tidy so no need to worry about a mess to clean up afterwards. Im also very reasonable about my prices! I love building/fixing things! That's why I chose this field of work. Nothing more satisfying than seeing the finished product and the process along the way!

Aikido is Budo, a martial art. It is a refinement of traditional martial techniques and forges mind, body and energy. Aikido teaches us to respond freely to any contingency that may arise. Hayward Aikido is Sandoval Senseis second dojo. Sandoval Sensei is proud to bring Aikido to Hayward and the East Bay. He believes that anyone can benefit from the awareness and discipline that Aikido teaches its practioners.
Having lived in Japan for 8 years does not make me a better instructor, in and of itself. Nor does having been a tournament champion. 35+ years doing Karate and several years doing other martial arts helps my level of understanding. Having a deeper technical knowledge than almost anyone else outside of Japan helps as well. But what really sets me apart is the passion that I have, not only for Karate-do as a way of life, but for teaching it in a way that helps students progress as quickly as they are capable of. I help other people improve their lives. What could be better than that?
I have 7 years of experience in boxing. I have been boxing since I was 12 years old and I am now 18 years of age. This training includes basic boxing. This is a great way to get back in shape. If you have any questions, please contact me. Thanks.
