Welcome to my page! I'm Nikolai Tarasov, an independent professional ballroom and latin dance instructor based in Los Angeles! I've had 19 years of experience in competitive Ballroom dancing. I started out in Russia at 6 years old, and after winning many regional titles around Russia, I was invited to move to the USA to continue my competitive career! My partner and I are now currently 4th in the nation! We hold many more titles such as, USA 10 Dance Champion, Blackpool Dance Festival Vice Champion, Disney Cup Champion, top 48 at Blackpool and United Kingdom Championships and many more... I believe my training gives me an advantage over many other instructors in the area, being one of the few who still regularly trains with world champions and updates my knowledge constantly. I strive to give my students the best suited technical advice to make dancing smooth, easy, and enjoyable! I have a wealth of experience in choreographing showcases and performance routines having performed in events all over the world, I also pride myself in training kids at the highest level to give them the strongest start in the ballroom and latin industry! The best thing about hiring an independent dance instructor is that you are not charged the pricey overhead fees that studios and large businesses charge! As well as gaining a better relationship with your teacher, to book lessons whenever you want and negotiate package prices! Nikolai and Sarah were amazing! My wife and I had no formal dance training prior to our sessions leading up to our wedding. They first understood what we wanted for our first dance, then helped us to choreograph and learn all of the necessary fundamental steps. They were flexible with design and ultimately just a lot of fun to work with. 10/10 would use them again!

Nikolai was incredible! We decided to take dance lessons just 2 weeks before our wedding, and had a tight time frame to work within. He was able to accommodate us right away but adjusting his normal schedule, and was a pleasure to work with. Nikolai gave us some helpful tips and pointers while we learned the dance, and then some "bonus" tips to make sure we looked elegant and graceful. On our wedding night, our guests complimented us over and over on how well the dance went. Thank you, Nikolai!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have many different lesson packages available, depending on your dancing goals and budgets! The pricing range for lessons is between $90 and $120.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
There is never a typical process when teaching dancing! As every new student has different goals, and ways of learning. We first learn the basic steps and then continue on at a pace that is comfortable to you and your learning style!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been trained by world professionals since I was 6 years old. I have had teachers such as Eugene Katsevman, Bryan Watson, Klaus Kongstal, Lene James, and many many more. I've also been invited to give lectures and group classes in Stanford and UC Berkley on a ballroom and latin dancing.
