Ivan teaches my teen guitar and my tween drums. He’s great with all ages tailoring his lessons accordingly. Ivan is prompt, courteous, professional and flexible. He obviously cares and is passionate about what he does and we feel very fortunate to have found him.

As a parent it is great to see my son connecting with Ivan - it's not just about learning to play guitar, it's about learning to enjoy playing guitar. Which Ivan does in his communication and his own personal example on the instrument. As such, Ivan has a way of making the lessons fun for my son, which I see evidence of when my son practices on his own. He's excited for the next lesson.

Ivan thought guitar for about a year. With him I learned to compose and arrange Jazz music. I also learned to play the major scale all over the fretboard. He thought me an easy technique that allowed me to memorize all the notes on the fretboard. What I most like about Ivan is that every lesson made sense. He presented every musical concept in a way that was logical and easy to understand. He was also very patient with me on Rhythms which is my weak point. I highly recommend Ivan to anyone interested in learning music.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I give new students one Free Intro Lesson. This lesson allow the students to see my teaching style. It also lets me get to know where they are at in their playing. what kind of music they like, and what they hope to get out of the lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied Music Theory at the Los Angeles Valley College. And have an Associate's Degree from The Los Angeles Recording School
