Dennis Hal, the proprietor, personally helped guide us through marmoleum installation. He had great suggestions and fit the installation into our tight schedule (appliances the next day). The installation itself required a lot of irregular cuts and turned out flawless. You can't do better than Hal's.

Dennis came out to assess the job and gave me a fair estimate. The work he did was incredible – he had to make some custom cuts and do things that were not anticipated initially; however, like the true professional he is, he did a phenomenal job.
There aren't enough good words to describe Dennis or the quality of his work.
I would highly recommend him without any hesitation!

Dennis was spot-on. Both he and his partner were excellent in all aspects of being on time, working swiftly, executing the job flawlessly, and presenting themselves professionally in all of their work. The job evaluation and quote was clear and precise. The job itself was completed amazingly; the carpet repair was installed in such a way that I can just barely tell any difference at all! I would highly recommend them for any carpet or floor job and I will certainly be calling them again if another floor-project arises.

I honestly could not be happier with the work of Dennis and his team at Hals Carpet & Vinyl. They are true professionals. From the very start, Dennis was extremely responsive, professional, knowledgeable, and honest.
Dennis was never late, he did absolutely everything he said he would do, and his quote was fair and reasonable.
Dennis's crew was absolutely fantastic as well. They were kind, polite, extremely hard working and true craftsmen. I am delighted with the work they did and can't recommend them highly enough. The project took 4 days start to finish, and they left my place tidy and organized each evening when they left.
For reference, I live in San Francisco in a condo building and had approximately 700 sq feet of carpet removed and replaced with new engineered floors. It required removal and disposal of the carpet as well as quarter-round trim placed along the baseboards. It looks like a new place.

C-15 contractors have to stay in their skill set. Carpet, sheet and plank Vinyl, LVP, VCT, LVT, Rubber Sheet and rubber tile, all hardwood, engineered, carpet tile, and self and non self leveling Portland cement, subfloor water damage, base moldings.
It is against the contracting law to work outside your license specifications and a felony with fines.
Ceramic, mosaic tile are not in the C- 15 license contracting.

I help write the state test for CSLB. Have 41 years experience in all aspects of floor covering.
