About
Do you have a child who struggles in school. Are they reluctant to go to school? Is homework completion difficult? Do they have frequent stomach aches? Maybe they need much more time to complete assignments than others, or struggle to decode unfamiliar words. Perhaps has trouble understanding and remembering what they've read, or have trouble with any of the complexities of writing? I offer private, specialized instruction to address the underlying issues that may cause learning difficulties. Through teaching learning strategies while also teaching content, she helps each student to achieve academic success. By offering compassionate parent consulting, case management, and school advocacy, the needs of the whole child are addressed. I am known for my patience, humor, persistence and ability to establish and maintain rapport with a child. Using research-based instruction within this context allows for measurable progress, and helps to restore a child's faith in himself as a learner. This is such a joy to be a part of!

Carolyn Price has been working with my 14 year old daughter Cameron for about 6 months with excellent results. Carolyn performed extensive testing to determine where Cameron was struggling and developed a plan for intervention, mostly around reading comprehension and fluency. Cameron has not only made significant progress, but really enjoys her weekly sessions because Carolyn makes it fun and rewarding. We plan to continue the tutoring into the new school year and incorporate specific strategies and support tailored to her new classes.
