Melanie and an assistant tended bar for my birthday event for sixty. They did an excellent job bartending; pouring wine and champagne and the featured cocktail. Melanie is professional, showed up in a timely fashion and got to work with personalizing her set-up and instructing her assistant. They kept the bar clean throughout the party and were efficient, my fear was a line at the bar and that did not happen. Thanks Melanie.

Melanie did an excellent job of bartending for a cocktail party I hosted at my home. Before the party, she provided me with a very comprehensive list of alcohol, bar mixers and all the ingredients anyone would need to have a full array of cocktails and libations. She suggested a signature cocktail for the party and then offered two interesting cocktail suggestions for my selection. The specialty cocktail I chose was a huge hit at the party--everyone loved it.
Melanie arrived on time and offered to help me set up for the party beyond the bar necessities. She was professionally attired, very neatly groomed and dressed in accordance with the style of the party. She mixed a wide variety of cocktails demonstrating advanced mixology skills and kept up the pace of 25 drinking guests. Melanie is personable yet professional at all times, and all of my guests enjoyed her immensely. She also helped warm food and was open to any assistance she could provide.
I have had other parties where inexperienced bartenders over poured drinks, could not keep up with the volume etc. I would hire Melanie again for any future party at my home as I feel lucky to have found her.

Mel was great! My sister and I hired her for our birthday party and Mel definitely made sure everything went as we planned. She was really great with communication and also gave us a shopping list of everything we would need which made things really easy. I hired Melanie for a birthday gathering for about 30-40 people. She was very timely with her communication from the outset. I had some cocktail ideas in mind and she helped me hone them down to specific drinks. Being outside on a roof (in windy SF) was difficult, but she was smooth and professional, keeping drinks flowing the entire night. She was even kind enough to offer to bring one of the ingredients that I was missing on the list. I would recommend her and would hire her again.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
People have been telling me that I would make a great bartender since I was 18 years old. I thought that they might be on to something.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with every type of customer. Everyone from tech companies (Airbnb, Twitch, CrunchyRoll, etc.) to special celebrity events at the Castro Theater. And of course, my favorite type of client is just people looking to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, holidays or some other special occasion.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I bartended an event at Medium.com in San Francisco for 200+ people and it was filmed for the pilot episode of their new series featuring interviews with award winning authors. It was me and 3 other bartenders who had never met each other before. We had to get creative after discovering that we ran out of sweet and sour mix halfway through the event but everything went smoothly and we were asked to return for the filming of their second episode.
