Mel was great! My sister and I hired her for our birthday party and Mel definitely made sure everything went as we planned. She was really great with communication and also gave us a shopping list of everything we would need which made things really easy. She answered all our questions and seemed very experienced in bartending. Would definitely recommend her!

Melanie went above and beyond the call of duty. We hired Melanie for a co-birthday party, for which we expected 60 people; however it was easily 85 throughout the night. She offered to come an hour prior to the event to get settled in and to help us to set up, which was incredibly helpful as we ran around like chickens with our heads cut off before our party began. For the amount of people we had, this would easily have been a two-person bartending job. Melanie offered to problem solve by simplifying the menu a bit the week prior to the job - keeping two more involved/complicated special drinks on the menu - so that our guests didn't have to wait too long for a drink. She also whipped up a large batch of something delicious for our first arrivals to sip on so that nobody had to wait to start their night! Melanie is incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, and professional. Hosting a party like ours with security, deliveries, Costco runs, etc, things can fall through the cracks fairly easily. Melanie and an assistant tended bar for my birthday event for sixty. They did an excellent job bartending; pouring wine and champagne and the featured cocktail. Melanie is professional, showed up in a timely fashion and got to work with personalizing her set-up and instructing her assistant. How did you get started doing this type of work?
People have been telling me that I would make a great bartender since I was 18 years old. I thought that they might be on to something.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with every type of customer. Everyone from tech companies (Airbnb, Twitch, CrunchyRoll, etc.) to special celebrity events at the Castro Theater. And of course, my favorite type of client is just people looking to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, holidays or some other special occasion.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I bartended an event at Medium.com in San Francisco for 200+ people and it was filmed for the pilot episode of their new series featuring interviews with award winning authors. It was me and 3 other bartenders who had never met each other before. We had to get creative after discovering that we ran out of sweet and sour mix halfway through the event but everything went smoothly and we were asked to return for the filming of their second episode.
