Ten/Four Studio

Introduction: My name is Megan Lavelle, and this is my design practice, Ten/Four Studio. Ten/Four began in 2008 as a creative boutique specializing in identity, print, and web design. In 2010, it became my full-time focus. The name Ten/Four comes out of my interest in the cross-section of written and visual language in the form of codes and symbols. Wikipedia tells me 10 codes began in the 1930's as code words used to represent common phrases in voice communication, particularly by law enforcement and CB radios. My grandfather was a firefighter (and a six-time shuffle board champion) who concluded every phone conversation with a booming "10-4." The common 10-4 represents the affirmative OK, and that's what I want for this studio -- always the positive yes.
