Introduction: After discovering yoga in 2001 as a way to relieve the pain of scoliosis, I have become entranced by the subtle connections between the emotions, mind, body and breath. I urge each and every student to honor where they are in their bodies today, no matter where they think they should be and regardless of their injury, limitation or physical ability. Everyone can open their mind and body to the practice and use it as a way to heal emotionally and physically.
By combining both the alignment principles and the traditional Hatha philosophy with the subtle energy work of integrative yoga therapy, I wish to create class experiences that bring you deep within yourself to locate your own inner voice. I try to integrate all of my classes with compassion and humor as a reminder to everyone that yoga is the divine dance between spirit and nature.
As a long-time student of many different paths including Reiki, Earth religion, Vedanta, and Buddhism, I enjoy introducing these old ideas in inspiring and new ways. So as to truly understand the journey of yoga, our bodies and minds must be supple and engaged, grounded as well as open.
It is my honor to have studied, over the years, with some talented, kind and wonderful yoga teachers including Ann Dyer, Richard Rosen, Vickie Russell Bell, Joseph and Lillian LePage, JoAnn Lyons, and Rodney Yee. May their lights continuously shine bright.
