FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$30 per hour for tutoring algebra and statistics. $50 per hour for tutoring Excel and SPSS. I tutor within a 25 mile radius of my residents. But I do charge more for farther travel. For travel up to 10 miles, no extra charge. For travel beyond ten miles, I charge $5 extra.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. My field is psychology, so I am constantly looking at peer-reviewed journals both in print and online to keep up with new developments. I also specialize in advanced statistics, and consistently work with a number of governmental and private data sets to conduct different analyses.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After earning A's in my first algebra and statistics courses, I was approached by another student about applying for work at the college's learning center. She told me the learning center was always looking for student tutors, so I applied and was hired. I tutored at the learning center until I transferred to a 4 year university.
