Very disappointing. Very over priced. People please get multiple quotes before you choose..I kept getting the runaround from this guy. I asked for a quote on my project. I gave explicit details for what I needed for my 40 foot retaining wall.. He said he sent a quote, but he didn't. Then I tried to call him several times always got voice mail and no returned calls. Then 1-1/2 week later he said he needed someone to see the site.. They came out. Got a quote that was way out of line for my wall $22-27,000. When I told him his price was out of line .. he said he needed more info.. Very surprising a contractor can figure a price for a wall. I chose a contractor that price was much more reasonable for my simple project. $14.000.May 3, 2018VerifiedLoyalty Counts Construction's reply
Jody, We truly wish you good luck on your project and hope this contractor is better than the one who began the project. We can honestly say that we are not always perfect in responses to our potential clients. You are exactly correct, in that you should get at minimum 3 quotes, as recommend by the CSLB, and only hire licensed contractors to do the work. I wish I could post all of our conversation on the matter so that any prospective clients would not judge our business by your review. But what is done, is done. We were unsure of many things with your project due to the conditions left by the previous contractor. I feel that we were upfront about that. When dealing with a retaining wall that had been cut back into the footing of another wall you have to be careful. It looked as though your main property wall was literally going to collapse due to the lack of structural support. It isn’t as simple as you state in your review. Just for clarity, the 22k-27k included engineered drawings. Minus that it would have been 4,000 more than the price you have posted. Estimating work is exactly that, estimating. Without plans it would be hard to bid. We did any way based on experience with walls that require the amount of work we felt yours needed. I guess that was where we made a mistake. When plans are needed we shouldn’t bid unless they are available. At the end of the day we are disappointed in the review and feel it is unfair. Even still, we will use it to be better in the future. Thank you for the opportunity and again good luck!

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? Our pricing is fair as far as the current market. We do offer promotional discounts from time to time. We also honor our veterans and seniors with a discount as well!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? When working with a new customer, we like to visit with them. Get an idea of who they are and what results they are looking for in their project. Once we have taken the needed measurements and have listened to the customer about the scope of work, we will put together an estimate. We make sure our estimates are detailed and that they address the scope of work, materials used and schedule of work. Once determined to perform the work, we determine a start date. Communication is key throughout the whole process!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?A huge portion of the training we have received is through experience! We have been in the construction trades for over 9 years. Because there is no job to big or to small for us, it has exposed us to many scenarios and given us the know how to successfully complete any project.
