Introduction: Beyond my masters degree in Vocal Arts from a top music school, I have continued to study and research with a top vocal pedagogue in Hollywood. The physiology and science behind vocal function has allowed me to enhance my teaching and the results speak for themselves. My students are lead singers in bands, musicals, operas and obtain music scholarship in college, performing all over the world. The fulfillment that every lesson brings the student as they hear their voice progressing and they obtain their vocal goals!

I’ve benefited extensively from Tara’s instruction over the last two years. I’m a bass, and primarily sing choral music and classical solo repertoire. Tara has helped me develop rich, full resonance, a vigorous, blended falsetto, and a larger range than I ever thought I’d have. Tara’s emphasis on strengthening and coordinating the different muscle systems of the voice has made me a much more robust and versatile singer. I highly recommend Tara to any singer looking to develop a strong, agile, integrated voice. Beautiful singing isn’t a matter of technique only, but a question of proper athletic training of the vocal muscles and anatomy. Tara delivers the training you need to sing with agility, flexibility, and liberated musical artistry.

Tara has improved my voice so much. I am a soprano, and when I came to her, I had all of the high voice and none of the low or middle voice. She has taught me how to develop it, purify it, and make singing so much more comfortable. I love the way my voice sounds now, and I would recommend her to anybody and everybody who wants to sing healthily and beautifully.

I have been taking lessons with Tara for a little over a year now and I just can't believe my improvement. I came to Tara thinking I was an alto, but learned I was a soprano and that I can hit some high notes that I would have never attempted before. In addition to that, her knowledge of what the body is doing as you sing is out of this world! She can explain everything that is going on and can tell you exactly what you are doing wrong and how to correct it. If you are looking for a teacher who really knows her stuff and won't harm your vocal instrument, she is an excellent choice! I couldn't have found a better music teacher...

She's awesome and my voice has improved a lot. She is very nice and makes the sessions enjoyable. She is also very understanding and great to work with.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Get their voices in excellent shape! Help prepare students for performances and auditions. Teach students how their voices work and how to eventually begin to problem solve things themselves. Become a better singer and musician!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

No two voice teachers are alike! Take a lesson from different teachers so you can find the right match for you. Ask questions, even simply "Why?" when a teacher asks you to do something. They should have answers based on truth, on scientifically proven fact. Its important the teacher can answer your questions and the answer means something substantial.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

I have taught at the collegiate level. I currently teach Voice at Ventura College.
