FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $75 an hour, but I offer a sliding scale:$50 - $100. I’ve benefited from such pricing structures, and I pay it forward when I’m able. I like this structure because it averages out so that I can earn money to pay my bills, and my clients can get the service they need at the price point they can manage.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our first meeting is a discovery session. You tell me your story. I ask questions. I take notes and draw a roadmap of your story. You can use this to help you write out your story: unpolished, messy, rambling. Then we get together and create more structure from there. Once the story is clear, we get into the nitty gritty of grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, etc.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have two bachelors degrees from Berkeley and a masters degree from Yale, where I was an editor for a student publication. I am working toward certification in life coaching, which has been an invaluable tool in helping me coach students in finding their voices and weaving their life stories and experiences for unique college application essays.
