I hired Emmanuel and his company to handle the remodel at my house in Joshua Tree. I’ve worked with dozens of contractors over the last couple of years and my experience with Emmanuel and EA Design and Construction was by far the worst. I rarely write negative reviews, only when it is well deserved. Here are just a few of the things highlighting my negative experiences; 1) They were over 4 months past deadline before the job was cancelled. It was around 2/3 complete when I canceled the agreement. 2) I was lied to on a regular basis, was told people were working on the job and that items were complete when neither was true. 3) When I finally cancelled our agreement, I was never refunded the money I pre-paid for the work that wasn’t done. 4) Items were done out of order (drywall and paint before electrical, concrete poured before drain put in , etc.) so i have to pay additional money now to re-do some of his work. 5) A lot of the work that was “complete” was done to a pretty low standard. The main person sent to work on the house was a concrete guy with little to no experience on completing the other tasks. I have to again pay additional money to fix some of this work. 6) I was asked to send progress payments way more often than what we agreed to. Proceed cautiously, and seriously reconsider if you are thinking about using this company. The stress and headaches are not worth the slightly cheaper prices.
