I started Teaching Voice in 1985 while living in Glendale, Ca. In between Performing and Touring, I kept a small Studio of students. In 1996, we built a home in West Palmdale. In 2005 we built my Lancaster Studio, which opened its doors in January 2006 and did an Opening Night Event for the Cast of "Beauty and the Beast". I went from "3 to 50 Private Students" in less then 90 days. It has been constant ever since.
Many students have gone on to professional vocal engagements, performing in different parts of the country and the world. Some hold recording contracts as well.
Many of my students have received full scholarships to the University's of their choice. I've had 2 students with Producer Callbacks to The VOICE, one with a Lead Callback to Hamilton, one with a Callback for Evita (National Tour), two are the winners of the LPAC Scholarship, one currently in China with the Sound of Music Global Tour, one at Universal Osaka, one attended NYU, five attended Berkley, one at Vanderbilt and numerous other prestigious Colleges.
I enjoy watching a student come in with virtually no knowledge of how to sing properly and quickly learn how to implement the techniques I teach. Watching a student succeed is the pleasure I aim for. Success is achieved when "Preparation MEETS Opportunity".

I have been taking voice lessons from Donna Parsons for more than 4 months now. I had never taken voice lessons before I began with Donna, but I knew I needed a good voice coach to teach me the mechanics of singing. I had basically taught myself by imitating other singers, which had caused me to develop several bad habits through the years. It became evident that I needed to improve when I began auditioning for theater roles, and I was NO MATCH for the trained singers I was auditioning against. I was looking for someone to help improve my sound overall by teaching me how to maintain flow of lines while singing, increase breath support, increase my vocal range, and ease onto notes so my singing didn't sound forced or labored, but controlled. She has helped me do all of those things and more! From the first day she made me feel like I had the potential to be fantastic! Every week I feel like I make progress or learn something. She has an entire repertoire of teaching techniques that are creatively designed to teach all types of learning styles so that you can visualize and better understand her lessons. She is truly amazing! I would go into detail, but I don't want to give any of her secrets away. Bottom line is that you will NOT find a better, or more experienced teacher, and she is MORE THAN WORTH the price of her lessons! She really genuinely cares for each one of her students as singers and people. You don't get that kind of personal feel from most instructors. I am so glad that I found Donna!

I enjoy working with you and helping you to understand not only where you are currently, vocally, but where you are going. Some Techniques are often harder to grasp until you simply "feel them"! It's at that point of understanding when the lesson is truly learned. I know you will understand what I just said as you experienced it just yesterday. Donna is extremely experienced and very patient, but tells you what you need to hear to improve. I highly recommend her for improving your vocal skills and confidence.

First I was contacted right away, surprising. Then took Granddaughter for her first session and wow it was great, the atmosphere was relaxing, no pressure. Wonderful person Donna and you could really see and feel her interest,. made me want to get up and sing :-) I loved it, my Granddaughter really loved it and enjoyed her first singing sessions. If I could give 10 stars they would be well deserved. Thanks Donna for making my Granddaughters day.

I went in for a consultation. I was very nervous she helped me out with that with a few simple gestures lol. I feel very confident that she is the right teacher for me and I know she will help me perfect my body as an instrument. She is very easy to talk to and is a really great person, I can feel it. She has great vibes and I can't wait to take in what I learn on my next lesson. I know she will help me reach my goals when it comes to my voice and career as an entertainer and artist. Everything feels right about this and I can't wait for the outcome.

I offer a special price for a package of four consecutive lessons. It has been a popular way to study and move forward.
$200.00 for 4 lessons
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I want to meet them and hear what their goals and dreams are regarding Singing. Then I have them sing, so I can see where they are vocally.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Just after High School I was offered a recording contract. I then headed to college and studied Applied Voice at KState. I moved to LA, where I studied privately with Carol Newbar, Keith Wyatt, Frank Fetta, but ultimately was lead to Georgio Tozzi. I did multiple shows in LA, acquiring my AEA card, performed for LA Music Center Opera (a special show with Dudley Moore) and began touring with Opera Ale'Carte with Richard Sheldon. I toured for 10 years.
