Kevin did an EXCELLENT job with the toilet clog and several other small jobs at our home. He was very good with communicating and arrived early (I know right! Handyman never arrive early!) He was very clear about the price and went above and beyond what I asked. I look forward to working with Kevin again.

I was in urgent need for a handyman, as a large part of a wall, insulation & floor in my storage closet was damaged by my leaking water heater. I decided to try Thumbtack and was very happy to see that Arisel from AA Cardenas reached out to me and said he can start work immediately. He was very prompt in replying, and very easy to reach on phone & text before, during and after the work was completed. When he came, he assessed the work to be done, gave me a very clear outline of materials needed and the labor cost. He told me he could finish the work in 2 days, which is exactly what my deadline was, and he did finish all the work in 2 days flat! He offered to go and pick up all the material from the hardware store, and worked till late on the first day to make sure he got as much work done as possible. He was very professional in putting up new insulation, patch sheet rock, applying texture to blend with existing wall texture and paint the area. He always cleaned up before he left and was very open to me asking questions about various things he was working on. Arisel was very nice to talk to as well, and he was accommodating to all my questions. He even came back 4 days later, at my request, to put floor molding. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the work Arisel did, and would definitely hire him again.

I've finally found my handyman! Ralph did half a dozen misc. things around our house, including installing a mailbox, and he was great. He was professional, on time, high quality of work, good at communicating, and fair on price. I found him off Thumbtack, but he's doing more business on Thumbtack, so I'm creating an account just to write this review, he's that good.

Harp has been incredibly helpful across a variety of issues. A friend recommended him to help move a piece of furniture to a resale shop and I have since called on him to help with a variety of furniture moving and more difficult house/handyman needs (hanging a VERY heavy mirror, installing bathroom towel rods etc). I not only recommend Harp because he's helpful across a variety of issues, he's also a really great person. I've enjoyed getting to know him and would recommend him to anyone. I've already have recommended him to family and friends who also have been very satisfied with his service.

While searching the internet for someone to remove our 12-year-old carpet from our two-bedroom flat, I found many referrals for carpet installation and floor refinishing, but nothing for carpet removal only. I then ran across a listing from Thumbtack, and thought I’d give it a try. The site was very easy to use. It asked me specific questions regarding the job, and within minutes I received emails from three people in my area that included price quotes. I chose one (Brian’s Handyman Services) and communicated further with Brian to clarify details. He booked the job for the next day. Brian sent me a text stating that he was on his way, and he arrived on time. He brought Carlos with him and the two of them began working immediately. If you’ve ever removed carpet, you know it’s a tedious job: it includes pulling up the carpet and pad, cutting them into pieces, pulling out all of the staples from the floor, removing the tack strips, and disposing of the carpet and pad. Brian and Carlos not only did that, but they moved our large pieces of furniture around in order to accomplish it. When they left, there was NO mess for us to clean up. Furniture was back into place and floors were swept. Brian even bolted four large pieces of furniture back onto the wall that had to be unbolted and moved in order to remove the carpet under them. Brian stuck with his original quote, even though the job turned out to be larger than expected. I can’t say enough kind things about Brian and Carlos and the professional job they did. They were fantastic! If you want someone who is honest, fair, flexible, and easy to work with, I highly recommend Brian’s Handyman Services for anything you need done at your home—and it sounds like he can do everything. You can contact Brian through Thumbtack on the internet.

I'm a real person, I work at a tech startup in SF, and just having moved to a new part of the city - didn't feel like assembling furniture AND having to unpack. I had some NON-IKEA, but similar, furniture that needed to be assembled. I had looked at some other popular task sites but they were showing me candidates that didn't exactly look "handyman-capable", and were conveniently charging ridiculous hourly rates. That's when I searched another local list and found Chao's post for "handyman services"; we easily negotiated a fair arrangement and he was able to come that SAME DAY. I was initially nervous waiting for him to arrive but when Chao showed up - I felt like I won the lottery. He brought his own tools and didn't want to waste time on small talk. THIS GUY IS SERIOUSLY A PROFESSIONAL HANDYMAN, & FURNITURE ASSEMBLY SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT. Within his first 5 minutes on site, He took that first furniture box with 1000 pieces and had methodically and systematically placed them in an orderly fashion and quickly began assembly -- paying strict accordance to instructions detail. WHEN CHAO WAS DONE, THERE WERE NO EXTRA OR MISSING PIECES!!! And, even though this furniture was "cheap", it was assembled as best as possible. Chao is an expert. I had some difficult space constraints that he had to work within but he just adapted. He had lots of tricks too, like unfolding the packaging box to protect my floor. Using a piece of cardboard to protect the furniture during hammer-assembly steps, etc... This guy is PROFESSIONAL and I highly recommend him.

Ben was courteous and professional. He automatically knew we were a shoes-off home and respectfully worked with special care to be clean and neat. He brought his own large mat that spread open to collect any debris. He completed 8 light fixture replacement for us. He was organized and worked systematically. I appreciated his clear communication and taking the time to explain how the light fixture we had are made to be 'flush mount' yet will have few mm gap due to the way it slides into place. He spoke respectfully and patiently. Ben is clearly experienced and knowledgeable. I would recommend hIring Ben and I would not hesitate to hire him again for any additional kind handyman projects I have.

Bill just left after doing a terrific job clearing the clog in my kitchen sink drain. I highly recommend Bill for handyman jobs such as this. When I start working on fixing up my kitchen cabinets and counter tops, he will be the first one I call. In the meantime, Bill was amazingly responsive, punctual and professional.

I appreciate his diligence and integrity! He installed new laundry room cabinets and worked on a minor cabinet door alignment issue until I was satisfied. Installed a new toilet, bathroom vanity light and a 16 lb. dining room flush-mount light. When I had a issue with the new toilet he corrected it immediately. He's now my go-to handyman and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a handyman!

Christopher did an absolutely fantastic job installing our Container Store custom Elfa shelving units in 2 reach-in closets and 1 pantry. The job required some light demolition (shelf removal), patchwork, painting and the final installation, all of which Chris did with diligence, skill, and professionalism. Chris was very friendly, transparent, prompt, and his customer service and communication skills were top notch. I can proudly say Chris has become our go-to handyman for all projects we are unable to handle ourselves and I would 100% recommend him to anyone needing shelving installation (especially Elfa!), TV mounting, and more!

Del was really professional and responsive to my messages. He was the only handyman that broke down the charges for me instead of giving me a random price. He replaced my kitchen faucet, range hood over stove, and reinforced the silicone seal in my tub. I appreciate that he was honest because I thought my bathroom tiles needed grouting but he looked at it and said it just needed a good scrubbing. He finished faster than quoted, too. It's so hard to find someone you can trust - I will definitely be using him again!

    1) There is a minor gap between one window and the sill in the living room. I would like to fill the gap using weather-stripping or any other suggested remedy. 2) The toilet seats in all three bathrooms have loosened, and I would like to tighten them down. 3) In one of the bedroom closets, the support for the closet rod has a loose screw that I would like to tighten. In the other bedroom closet, I have two supports for the closet rods. I would like to add an additional 1-2 supports. 4) We worked on one of the bathroom drains last time, but it is still draining slowly. I would like to snake the drain. 5) This is less of a priority, but the cabinetry in the kitchen and bathrooms is showing some wear and tear. I was hoping/wondering if we could do something to “freshen” them up without a ton of expense.
