SARAH D. says, "Alex responded to my request within minutes with a very fair price and was patient with me while I was uncertain of the date I would need his service to build my outdoor furniture (the project was wrapping up). Once I had a date he was immediately able to say he was available and gave me time options and I was able to pick what worked for me. He confirmed the date and time one week out, the day before, and let me know when he was on his way the day of. He was presentable and very nice, and got straight to work! He built quite a bit in just a few hours and was even chatty when my parents stopped by to do other work with me in the yard - my dad even asked me to forward him Alex’s information! I’m now sitting on my new furniture while writing this review, and it’s very sturdy. Alex will be my first call next time I need help - as a single parent with a whole house to maintain I will definitely be needing his help again! Thank you Alex! FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

On average, people pay around $233 to have their doors fixed. But you could pay more (or less) depending on the repairs that are needed. More extensive damage — like a door that’s been broken down — could raise the prices. To find out how much your repairs will cost, contact a door repair professional near you.

A door that has been kicked in can usually be repaired, but this type of repair is generally more expensive than standard repairs. The extent of damage is the largest driver of cost. The pro may need to replace the entire door, repaint or stain it, fix damaged locks and hardware, or even replace it entirely.

Consult with a door repair professional near you to find out if your door can be fixed or if it should be replaced.

Doors have several moving parts and take a lot of wear and tear, so they can break in multiple ways. One of the most common types of breakage is broken hinges. Fixing this problem may involve using a chisel, glue and other specialty tools.

For any repairs you don’t feel comfortable doing yourself, hire a professional. A door repair service, contractor, carpenter or handyman may be able to fix your door issues.
