- How did you get started doing this type of work?
We saw a real need for diverting items from the landfill. More and more of our landfills are filling up. The more we can donate and recycle items the more we can divert from our ever growing landfills. We take time to sort through items we remove to make sure they are going to the right location for reuse or disposal.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We removed a baby grand piano that was in good working order and donated it to Habitat for Humanity. We saved the donation receipt for the customer so they were able to right it off on their taxes. It was a win-win-win situation. The customer was happy because their piano went to a good cause, Habitat For Humanity was happy to receive the donation for their restore - and we were happy to divert it from the landfill and help out our local community.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Read customer reviews - not all companies provide the same level of service and care in removing your unwanted items. It's best to go with a reputable company that you know is disposing of your items properly and has the appropriate insurances should anything happen when removing items from your property.
