Jessica is a fantastic cello teacher... My 9 year old daughter loves having lessons with her and her playing has greatly improved. Jessica is always prompt and ver good at communicating via text or email. She even has a recital for her students which my daughter really enjoyed participating in. I highly recommend lessons with Jessica!Apr 11, 2016Verified
I am so glad to have found Jessica. She is patient, observant, helpful, and so encouraging. I was unsure how online cello lessons would work, but this is the ideal format for me. Jessica is able to observe form and offer gentle suggestions as well as instruction on sound. I highly recommend Jessica and am sure that with her help, even an old, slow returning cellist will soon be enjoying playing complex music. Finally, Jessica has been very flexible with my crazy schedule lately. An awesome person and great instructor.Sep 11, 2015
Ms. Greenly is absolutely a wonderful cello instructer. She is experienced, encouraging, and patient. She knows exactly what my son needs to work on. I really like how she encouges nicely to work on detailes in phrases, pitches, etc..her friendly and patient approaching always works! Thank to Ms. Greenly, my son has made it to the top chamber orchestra in middle school this fall. It is not easy to find a great teacher but we feel we are the lucky ones.Oct 11, 2013
My son has been taking weekly cello lessens from Jessica over a year now and he really likes her. She is very talented, nice and patience. She will write down what he learned and needs to practice on a notebook every time. She is always on time and good at responding right away if I need to communicate with her. There are many qualified teachers around but it is hard to find one that has the quality I mentioned.Oct 11, 2013

- What types of customers have you worked with?I provide cello lessons in the homes of my students at very little to no extra cost. I work with beginning students on how to properly hold the cello and how it "feels" to make a sound. Since I can't tell how the bow or the strings feel to you, I need to make sure you know how it should feel when done correctly. With intermediate students, I can focus more on how to improve their sound and on how to interpret a piece of music.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?About a year ago, I started teaching a student with very limited English ability. Add to that, anytime I would try to make a correction to his playing, he would hide his head behind his cello and become non-responsive. Imagine that happening 15 minutes into an hour lesson! I started to photocopy his music and cut out two measure segments so that he only had those two measures to focus on at a time. I would also number each passage from 1-6 and he would roll a dice to figure out what passage he had to play for me. That along with a few other "games" had him coming out of his shell and now we get along great at lessons. I really strive to teach each student individually and to always try and find a way to get through.
