I've been a family law attorney for over 30 years now. I focus primarily on prenuptial agreements for couples getting married and mediation for couples getting divorced. I have an excellent track record with both. When it comes to prenuptial agreements, I have never had a single prenuptial agreement that I’ve drafted overturned or invalidated by any judge...not one. (And I work hard to keep the perfect track record.) And when it comes to mediation, I would estimate that approximately 95% of all cases that I’ve mediated have resulted in settlement agreements, allowing the parties to avoid trials and save a ton of time, money, and stress. I am in excellent standing with the State Bar of California and have never had any disciplinary actions taken against me by the Bar. (You would be surprised how many attorneys have.) I was desperately in need for an attorney I thank God I found Scott Kosner he was amazing! Even when I thought I had no chance in winning my case he made it possible! From my experience from having another attorney he is no where near the last one as I sat there I understood what he was doing to win over the judge even tho I was embarrassed but it didnt matter because he did it! I wished I knew about him sooner but I'm glad I know about him now. Even my husband said to keep him for future cases just in case. Even my mother was amazed! Again I cannot express how amazing he was he knows excalty what he is doing! My only regret is not finding him sooner! After 3-1/2 years of court and two previous lawyers who seemed to be milking my divorce because of the type of job I have, I found myself searching for a new lawyer as my TRC was coming up soon. I had recently been injured at work and couldn't afford a new lawyer and considered representing myself, pro per. I found Mr.Kosner on a Google search under thumbtack. He responded very quickly with a sense of urgency to find out how he could help me, all the while assuring me that no matter what was going on he could help me out and almost guaranteed me results, even though we live in the real world and I know there's no such thing as a lawyer keeping a promise in a divorce, I felt really comfortable and at ease with him. We met at a coffee shop not far from his office. This consultation was free and he didn't mind staying for 4 hours answering all my questions and listening to all my concerns, needless to say I retained him. Since money was tight for me, Mr.Kosner said we could work the money situation out, even offering a flat rate so I knew what to expect and how much to pay! Two days after I retained him, we met at the court house, checked in with the court, met with opposing counsel and you'll never believe me, which is why I'm writing this review. Mr. Kosner took control of the situation and lead both parties to a settlement which was fair and spared us both time and money if we would have gone to trial. Mr. Kosner did in a courthouse cafeteria in 4-1/2 hours what two previous lawyers of mine couldn't do, what the petitioner's lawyer couldn't do, what I thought was impossible to do and he did it right in front of me with the utmost integrity, understanding, confidence and respect that I feel every client in my shoes deserves at the most difficult and uneasy time of our lives. Mr. Kosner is a professional, in my opinion he's old school, where the customer is always right. He had settled my divorce. It's over. I kept my poker face on in court while we told the judge we reached our agreement and it was finally over. When we left the courthouse and opposing counsel was nowhere to be seen, I thanked Mr. Kosner, I even hugged him because I think I was still in shock! I work in an industry which has around 8000 full time employees, word of mouth recommendations goes a long way here and I'm expecting Mr. Kosner to be very, very busy after I get back to work and share my experience. I usually don't write reviews, but I have to give credit when it's deserved! Scott Kosner is an outstanding attorney. My case is a divorce and child custody case that is extremely complex. Scott has managed to pretty much settle my entire case! He said " I am not a miracle worker". Honestly Scott is pretty darn close to a miracle worker! When I originally did my search on avvo and thumbtack it was a Sunday morning. I was stressed didn't know what to do or where to start! About 15 mins I received an email from Scott with his personal cell phone number. I sent him a text explained my situation and he responded! On a Sunday! He put my mind to ease told me don't worry about money we can figure out a plan. Prior to hiring Scott I went for the free consultation and he explained my case what I was up against etc... he didn't rush me took his time I felt comfortable and at ease. After I would send Scott questions about certain things and he would always get back to me. I hired Scott last min like a week before court and he was ready and prepared for my case! He even guided the opposing council and explained to her what action was needed. Of course, all in my best interest! I went onto thumbtack to look for an attorney which was pretty late, and he replied to me within 5 mins! Messaged me directly from his phone. It was 4 days before my court day. He already had someone scheduled at the same time. Since he has a good relationship with the court he was able to call the day before to come in at a later time so he can be there for me. I was really scared, nervous and stressed out because I got myself into a HUGE horrible mess. Scott and his firm assured me that everything will be okay. Scott is truly a real life guardian angel, I was able to walk away because of the amazing reputation and relationships he has with the court and other lawyers. It was over within minutes.
