I engaged Jackie's services for a home Pilates instructor for my boss who is a highly trained athlete and who is very particular around instructors. Jackie sent one of her two instructors located here in the Bay Area. He is incredibly pleased with the level of instruction, the quality of the training, and in Jackie's overall service, i.e., website, communication, and online payment feature. Highly recommend.
Jennifer is a wonderful trainer. She's not at all intimidating but doesn't let you slack either. I have been working with her twice a week for nearly 6 months and I always look forward to our workouts. She incorporated TRX, HIIT, step, weights, body weight and pilates reformer into my training and I am loving the improvements in my strength and cardiovascular endurance. Our workouts have given me a positive attitude and keep me motivated to exercise outside of the studio as well.
She is excellent! Always smile and makes me feel good coming to her studio. Great Pilates teacher. Clear where I have to working on. She is also very good taking care of little dancers class.
Gretchen listens extremely well -- to my words & body -- and builds a responsive program. She's also really accessable for questions between sessions. Overall, just has a positive attitude, a lot of knowledge, and is a pleasure to spend time with.
Amira, an amazing instructor, has worked with me for many years. I started Pilates with her at UCSF and then together with others, I followed her to another studio. In each session with her clear and focused guidance, the body gets stretched and balanced. I leave the workout session feeling great, that I’ve done something really good for myself. She’s awesome! -Katrina S
I snapped my tibia and fibula in January of this year that required surgery, hardware, extensive recovery and PT. I started working with Jordana twice a week because I was still really unbalanced and physically afraid of doing much beyond walking. She was such a gift at that time to me and I cannot really express all the positives about my experience with her. She helped me get my muscles back in alignment after the nasty atrophy that occurred, she did it with humor and physical awareness and kept me on task with kindness and constantly pushed me to do better and reminded me of how far I'd come. As a trainer and person I can't recommend her highly enough; Jordana is motivated, professional, kind and highly knowledgeable about building the skills for physical recovery.
Blair is a gifted Pilates instructor. She knows just when/how to challenge me and do so in a wonderful way that encourages me to work harder. The end result? I look and feel good! Yay! I've long suffered from back pain (scoliosis) and I've never felt better! I've been seeing her 2-3X per week for the last two years (combination of mat and equipment class + duets and privates). The comments from friends and family who haven't seen me in a while are awesome.
I have taken A LOT of Pilates classes but it was not until I started to work with Michal one-on-one that I really began to grasp the way the exercises were supposed to feel. Every week, I leave feeling lifted and stronger with a deeper connection to and understanding of my body and the way it is designed to move in balance. Each session I learn something new and not just intellectually but kinesthetically---the difference in lifting from my shoulder blades or dropping my sternum into alignment---it feels like learning how to really drive a car after only ever shoving along in second gear. Michal crafts each training session to serve my individual needs. She is extremely knowledgeable and attentive and her focused cues and spotting make sure I am doing every part correctly and working to my limits.(With lots of positive reinforcement which helps too). Our work is mostly Pilates but she also integrates different modalities depending on what results I want. She is really good about shaping a program around an existing injury and making sure I never push too far. She also gives me stretches and exercises to practice at home to help correct imbalances, and techniques to use at work and prevent further injuries. I always feel like my whole person is being strengthened when I work with Michal---she doesn't shy away from the mind-body-emotion connection that Pilates offers and at times she feels to me as much a healer as a trainer. She brings a lot of dedication, humor and soul and I feel so lucky to have found her!
Jayne is a marvelous instructor. I've worked with her for several years and have learned more about how my muscles work than with all the other martial arts, dance, yoga and fitness instructors I've studied with in the past 60 years. She really understands bodies and alignment.
As my Life Coach Sarah guided me toward clarity regarding the biggest question of my life what is my true purpose here? Sarah Reed is an elegant, whip-smart, laser-focused and intuitive belief-change miracle worker. She has helped me shift from habitual ways of thinking and believing that were not serving me, to new ways of being that reflect my higher self and purpose. Sarah gently fed my soul with insight into my beliefs and values, my capabilities, my identity and my true mission on this planet. I am forever grateful to Sarah for sharing HER true purpose and power to guide me toward mine.
What a wonderful studio! Recently I spent 5 days in San Francisco and wanted to keep up with my weekly pilates classes so I scheduled two classes with Lena Koenig -- I had read her bio on line and expected my classes would be a bridge until I returned home to my regular instructor. Well, what a surprise --- Lena was more than sufficient! I learned several very important concepts within the first 15 minutes that had thus far eluded me and we ended up having two fun, challenging classes. Since I find myself in San Francisco twice a year I plan on attending classes with Lena again. A great find.
Amanda has been my pilates instructor for 8+ years--she's the best! She's warm, thoughtful, and has endless knowledge of different exercises. She's helped rehabilitate injuries, while building strength and improving my problem areas. I'd recommend her to anyone, from beginner to advanced. I always feel better after our sessions.
In working with Lani for one and a half years now, the results are truly amazing. I have developed deep core strength, flexibility, relief from back pain and my scoliosis has become much less prominent. All of my goals have been met, and she continues to take them to new and higher levels surpassing my expectations. Lani is extremely knowledgeable in how our bodies move, she never rushes through a session and is a stickler for doing each movement correctly with precision. Her private and semi-private session are equally terrific and very enjoyable. She has shown me the safe and correct way to do the movements, so I can do them independently between sessions. A gem of an instructor!
I was so excited to start Pilates again..I did my research and a friend of mine highly recommended Cheryl. She is awesome and helped me so much. She is a true 'professional ' and I just love her! Thank you Cheryl for you passion and devotion ??BTW I look and feel fabulous
I believe in the original work of Joseph Pilates. So, I try to stay as true to it as possible. My experience and knowlede of the human body comes in handy while I train my clients. I make sure that their technique and allignment is correct while getting an interesting and challenging workout. Therefore there is less chance of injury. They leave invigorated, and ready to face any challenge that lies ahead. I love that clients often come in after a long day, they are tired, and pretty much ready to call it a day. However, they are truly dedicated to this form of exercise, and will not miss a class. They know that doing Pilates will only make them feel better. They always tell me so at the end of class.

After many years of being a student of yoga practicing different styles I decided that I wanted to pursue teaching others what yoga is all about. Breathwork, Mindfulness, Alignment, and Awareness are the main keys to advancing into poses. I can teach most styles of yoga as well as incorporate a fusion of Pilates, even a Barre format that will burn fat and tone muscle can be offered to complement the yoga practice. Strength & Stretch are Equally Important. I'm a Level 2 Reiki Healer and will offer massage in Savasana. My experience has been diverse, from working with older women who need to alleviate stress as well as yogis who are practicing handstands, backbends, arm balances, etc. My personalized service will cater to where you are in your practice and I love to give homework! Yoga and Wellness go hand in hand. The true purpose of yoga is to prolong life. It's about more than just the physical, it speaks to the spiritual and mental aspects of ourselves. I'm currently reading Light on Yoga and The Autobiography of a Yogi which bring together a fuller understanding of this ancient way of life. I love it when my students have that aha moment and feel a difference in their body. Yoga is Healing!
