About
Welcome to The Chic Home, where style meets functionality in the most effortlessly unique way! I'm Nishita, your go-to interior designer on a mission to prove that creating a stunning living space doesn't have to break the bank or your schedule.
At The Chic Home, I believe your home should be a reflection of you – stylish, functional, and brimming with personality. With a passion for mid-century bohemian vibes infused with Scandinavian minimalism, I am all about crafting spaces that tell your story.
But here's the twist – I am not just about aesthetics. I am here to make your home work for you, whether you're entertaining guests, working from home, or simply unwinding after a long day. I deeply value inclusivity – designing spaces that cater to neurodivergent needs because everyone deserves a home that feels like a sanctuary.
Oh, and did I mention my love for color and the thrill of exploring decor treasures at flea markets? Because who says style has to be pricey? So, if you're ready to transform your space into a haven that's as stylish as it is functional, you're in the right place. Let's design a home that's as unique as you are!

We hired Nishita to design five key rooms in our home — the kitchen, dining room, bedroom, living room, and family room — and she exceeded every expectation. From the beginning, she listened closely to our goals as first-time homeowners who wanted to make a lasting investment. She recommended high-quality, durable products that balanced beauty with practicality, all while staying within our budget. Her thoughtful approach helped us create a home that feels both elevated and livable.
What truly set Nishita apart was her ability to incorporate our existing art and furniture seamlessly into the new design. She took the time to include actual photos of our artwork in her mock-ups, helping us envision the final space with confidence. Whether it was designing a cozy, kid-friendly family room or a more curated living room with functional pieces like shoe benches, plants, and a sleeper sofa, she captured the feeling we wanted in each space with precision.
Color is a big part of our lives — it’s everywhere in our art and furniture — but we didn’t know how to bring it all together. Nishita not only tied everything in flawlessly, but she also gently pushed us out of our comfort zone by introducing new hues that made the rooms feel even more cohesive and vibrant. Her eye for detail is unmatched, from the paint colors and artwork placement to the curtains that make the space feel larger and the throw pillows that pull everything together.
Nishita was also incredibly responsive and reliable throughout the process, which made a huge difference as we navigated the many moving parts of moving into a new home. We can’t thank her enough for helping us create a space that feels like us — colorful, comfortable, functional, and uniquely ours. If you’re looking for someone who truly listens, brings creative vision, and delivers with care and precision, we couldn’t recommend Nishita more highly.

Money well spent! I booked 1 hour with Nishita and it was so valuable! She provided a questionnaire in advance. From that, she prepared a color palette and had a good sense of my style even before we met. When we met virtually on zoom, we were able to tackle not just the top 3 items on my list, but all 6 items. I appreciated her honesty ("no, that won't work") and skillful eye, professionalism, and suggestions. Highly recommend Nishita!

I had never hired a Color Consultant and Designer before so was not sure what to expect once I reached out to Nishita. However, once we met to discuss my project I knew I had made a good choice. Her enthusiasm for my project was immediate and it was a joy to discuss and work with her. She was patient with my questions and I loved her suggestions and choices. Initially I was seeking advice and help with color selection only, however, Nishita had some great ideas for how to use my existing furniture and suggestions for replacement of pieces that would work well with the new color palette. On my own I know I would not have chosen some of the pieces for the project, however , now I am excited for this new update for my home. I would not hesitate to recommend Nishita and look forward to working with her again.
Details: Full home design • Living room • Dining room • Less than 500 sq ft • Color palette / paint selection • Accessories / art selection • Midcentury Modern • Shabby Chic • At the pro’s location • My home, venue, etc.
