Val McElroy, of VM Studio, is an amazing flute teacher. I started lessons with her during the pandemic, after a long hiatus from studying music. As an older adult, I wasn’t sure what to expect, and was a little apprehensive. I needn’t have been, because Val is truly one of the best teachers I have ever had! She has a gift. Not only is she a talented flutist herself, but she is an exceptional teacher. She is patient and empathetic, passionate about music, and is one of the most positive people you’ll ever meet. She has helped me to improve my tone and technique so much, and she knows just how much to push me to advance to a higher level of playing. She has found beautiful pieces for me to learn, and has helped me find flute ensembles to play with. Flute lessons with Val have become a wonderful part of my week.

VM Studio has 3 of the best educators of music. These instructors are all amazing in their own right. They make learning music fun, educational and not to mention possible for beginners like me to ACTUALLY sound good and know what I'm doing.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Customers pay $1.50 per minute for the length of the lesson. For example, a 30-minute piano lesson would cost $45.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We find out what the student's past experiences with music are, as well as get a sense of their musical goals. We pick music based on what they would like to work on, focusing on their specific strengths and weaknesses.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our three teachers have degrees in Music Education, Music Therapy, and Music Performance from DePaul University, Berklee College of Music, and Cal State Fullerton. Collectively, we have 25 years of professional experience in the music field!
