They can't be trusted with your most valuable possessions. They don't even pay their employee's. I'm speaking from experience. I was due to be paid three weeks ago. Was left with no money for food, almost lost my car, and had to pawn my wedding ring to save my car. These jerks still won't pay me. Anyone who works let a stellar employee suffer shouldn't be trusted. I recommend you go with a company that is reputable. Go with movers that CAN be trusted like Mayflower!
Bay Area Movers did fine work with our moving job.
We had two Pod containers that needed unloading in downtown SF. We got two movers who were hired at a 3 hour minimum. We knew we had a 3 hour minimum going into it - the job was a bit shorter, it took the movers about 2.5 hours to complete the job.
They generally did a great job. I mean, they got everything out of the containers and put it in our house! They also arrived on time, exactly according to schedule. Very much appreciated.
The one thing we wished was that they had slowed down a bit when moving the big pieces through our house. There were a couple times when they hit the walls with the furniture. This is very understandable with a big move, but we felt like the couple hits against the wall could have been prevented if they had been a bit more patient with the move. Hence the 4-star (not 5-star) review.
Anyway, thanks very much to Bay Area Movers. They generally did a very good job, and we were very happy to have finally moved in to our new place!
The 4-man moving team was fast and efficient. My roommate and I did not do the best job of packing so we appreciated the team's willingness to re-pack some of our belongings. It was helpful, but not requested. Either way, we were charged extra for that.
I was slightly disappointed when the movers said that they could not go to pick up a couch that we had purchased. Before the move, I confirmed that they would be able to do this, but on the day of the move, it was a different story. In the end, it was cheaper for us to pay the furniture company to deliver the couch for us, but the confusion was frustrating.
We give 4 stars instead of 5 because of the two issues described above. Overall, though, the service was perfectly professional. I would use this company again.
