Jose and his electrician They provided a fixed-price quote for our predefined scope, which was reasonable. They arrived on time, asked all the necessary clarifying questions, and then completed each of the scope items as desired.
They kept the workspace clean and even went above and beyond by doing things that weren't part of the scope, such as touch-up paint around newly installed light fixtures. Their work was high quality, and I look forward to hiring them again!

We invited RJ Home Repair to come to our house and to give us a quote in fixing some termite and dry rot damages in our home. Jose and Ricardo came. Jose was the one who spoke with us. Since he speaks more Spanish than English, he has an app on the phone that he speaks in Spanish and the phone translates it to English for us. It is a very smart way to avoid any miscommunication.
After we told Jose what needed to be fixed, he gave us a quote. We felt it was a little high but it was our first quote and we did not have any comparison so we told Jose that we needed to think about it. While Jose was speaking with us, Ricardo was actually looking around our house, locating things that we should take care of but missed. We were impressed that he took upon himself to inspect our house for us. Then they volunteer to go on the roof to do more inspections. They found dry rot in the front of a bedroom, dry rot around a window frame, and some damages around the chimney. They took pictures of the damages and showed us. Before they went up on the roof, my husband told them that if they get the job, he liked them to take down an old satellite dish that was still attached to our home. During the inspection, they just took it down for us even though we had not given them the job. I understand they did that because they wanted the job, but there was no guarantee they would get it. They were ok to do us a favor and took down the dish.
In the end, we gave them the job. As I mentioned it was our first quote, we do not know whether the cost was high or not but their quote on Thumbtack was $100 per hour. They spent about two and a half days to finish all repairs, so it is what they said they will charge on the website. If we look around, we might be able to find someone to do it cheaper, but we like their initiative in checking our house and taking down the dish not knowing whether they would get the job. We feel we can trust them plus they found the damages on the roof, it is just fair that they get the job. To us, spending a few dollars if we can find someone we can trust and skipping the stress of interviewing other companies is all worth it.
We hope we do not need any more house repairs for a long time but we have saved their business card and will call them if we need any help in the future.
