Sergei of Beaver built decks and fences, did an excellent job rehabbing our 14‘ x 15‘ outdoor deck and staircase, including two large benches that were built into the deck and two steps that were part of the deck. He painstakingly identified and replaced all of the planks that needed replaced. He replaced all of the screws for the entire deck, and rebuilt the steps of the staircase. He sanded everything, with professional equipment that did not leave any sawdust behind. Nothing was done at all that the neighbors would have even noticed. After sanding everything, he applied an oil based stain and everything looks terrific. Sergei, the owner, does all of the work also.

Sergei told me from the very first day that he was very knowledgeable and skilled when it comes to staining wood. I will never forget him telling me a light sanding on my fence would open up the pores for the wood to absorb the stain. I have never seen a small business owner with this high level of knowledge before. I was initially not going to use his business because he didn't have any pictures of his work posted. Which seemed like a red flag to me. My interactions with Segei taught me thst I can't solely base whether or not a contractor will do great work or not if they don't have pictures of their completed jobs posted online. Boy was I wrong to think this way.
Sergei took the time to stop by my house beforehand. We discussed every facet of the small project that would consist of sanding on day one and staining on day two. He gave me a pine wood sample with some stain on it to show my spouse the color once she made it home from work. I wanted a light colored stain for everything. Something very natural looking.
After Serge began working on my fencing the very next day, he told me that the stain would look darker on redwood. He sent me some pictures of the stain on a redwood deck. I asked him if we could go with a lighter color and was pondering a New Redwood stain from Cabot. I was shocked when Sergei showed up on day two with redwood stain from Cabot. Sergei and I both have an eye for the most beautiful things in life. I remember telling Sergei that I was looking for the New Redwood stain color, but it was discontinued. I am glad Sergei picked up a can of redwood stain because the stain really makes my house pop and standout. Sergei turned my house into an attraction for my neighbors. I have people stopping by to take pictures.

Sergei is the consummate professional. In discussing work to be done Ito repair and restore our 1983 redwood deck, he promised to do a job we would want to tell our friends and neighbors about, and he did. He set nails, added wood screws, stabilized and replaced a step, sanded so that every single bit of old stain was gone and was down to bare wood. He then applied new stain and now our old deck looks the best it has in many, many years.
Because Sergei did such an outstanding job on the deck, we asked him to paint our large wood storage shed. The trim wood and paint were peeling and in very bad shape. Sergei, once again, worked to properly prepare the wood before painting.. it was hard work, done in an area of full sun, on a miserably hot day. The next day he came at 6:00am to apply two coats of paint before it was too hot to apply it properly. The shed again looks new.
We are very pleased with Sergei. He is prompt, works long hours, and his communication, and the quality of his work, are excellent.
Sergei wants his work to be perfect and he does everything he can to meet that standard. You can't ask for more than that.
