When I first contacted Mark via Thumbtack to come and take a look at a loose tile in our shower, I never expected that we’d be working together on a full remodel of my 1980s rug-floored, jacuzzi-platformed, marbled-tiled master bathroom. But after he dug a bit deeper and identified about 30+ years of water damage beneath the surface of our shower, and that a quick fix would be nothing more than a temporary band-aid on a larger problem, I decided to take the leap and finally consider creating the bathroom of our dreams. It was something I always balked at because of how involved and costly my wife and I thought it would be (I mean, just look at that old Jacuzzi + platform!)...but Mark laid out the steps, gave us a very fair price, and we proceeded to embark on a 4-week journey to realize our spacious master bathroom’s true potential. Mark will say that he’s just a tiler (he is, and a great one at that)…but he was far more than just that. He acted as a general contractor, keeping all the pieces moving and us happy and informed. He lead us through each step of the project, was upfront about costs and issues that arose, and always asked us what WE wanted to do when a decision was on the table. When we needed extensive plumbing to bury our pipes in the foundation, he gave us options and then recommended a plumber that was fair and did a great job. When we wanted heated floors, he gave us advice on what to get and an electrician to put them in. And he just didn’t leave us on our own…he called these contacts and interfaced with them, even coming on a day he didn’t need to and discussing what they would do. I could tell he wanted to make sure they were aligned with his vision and needs, which goes to show you how invested he was in the project. And his team of 2 other demo/tiling associates was the same…always prompt, open to our suggestions while giving theirs, and executing their work with skill, pride, and a smile. From taking time to make our shower curb look seamless, to arranging tile patterns that worked well together on the walls and floor, they paid attention to the details as much as the big picture. Finally, my wife and I are designers ourselves, and often have to see something "coming together" to cement our ideas, or, on occasion, pivot in a new direction. This isn’t always the ideal way to work, but for us, having someone who lets us see the progress step by step and keeps us informed is ideal. Mark and his team did that, entertaining our ideas and being able to execute them (within reason, of course!). When we realized we wanted an electrical outlet by the toilet halfway through the project, he found time in the schedule to make it happen. When we saw how tile going up the full wall might look better than the 1/3 wall we had planned, he added an extra day to make it happen. And it looked amazing. I can’t recommend Mark and MG Tile enough. The day after they finished, my wife turned to me and said, “I kind of miss having them around.” I can’t think of a better testimonial to the work Mark and his team did. They created a bathroom that we are in awe of, that realized the true potential of our large but dated space, and they did it with a smile and professionalism that I truly appreciate. It all turned out better than we could’ve imagined. Mark and team, thank you for helping us to realize and achieve a long-standing dream in such a spectacular fashion. Let Mark do the same for you!

Amazing work and beyond professional. Greatly appreciate the fact that MG tile walked through and explained the entire project with me. Spent time to go over different options to tackle small issues and ideas. Communicated plans and times and stuck to them. Set up and kept work area clean (which is rare with a lot of other jobs I’ve had done). I’m beyond happy with the job done and will keep MG Tile as my only contact for this type of projects.
